What can I say about Phil's? It's hands down the best Hamburger I've EVER eaten in my life! I just couldn't believe how good it was. The bun was some variation on sourdough which actually tasted more like those Hawaiin rolls than anytyhing else. Patty was juicy and cooked to perfection and the toppings were incredible. It was just a great overall burger. \r

As for ambience, the place is a converted Garage which gives it a nice bump in the character column but hurts when trying to avoid that unbelievable Austin heat. Fries, Onion straws, and Sweet Potato Fries are side options and all are good. Beyond that you've got soft drinks and bottled/tap beers to round out the menu.\r

If I have anything negative to say about the place, it's that I would have pumped up the specialty burger menu. It's good that I can craft my own sandwich, but it's also nice to have those perfectly measured combos set aside for me. For instance- thae burger I ate had a spicy chipotle sauce, jalapenos, and bacon.. which all seem liek they'd work well together, but then they threw in ham too! Ham sounds like an utter clash for that sandwich, but it worked and actually made my burger stellar. Add a few more of those and I'd never leave the place!
Pros: BEST BURGER EVAR!!!11!!
Cons: Dining room can get a bit hot, Needs more specialty burger on the menu
