Didn't want to give the one star, but I don't think I have an option. Anyone who gives the place 5 stars has not been to any of the other Mazes in the area.

excellent fall fun without the long drive 10/24/2009

Our family had a great time at Phillips Farm! We usually make a long drive up to HillRidge but decided to go local this year. It was great!! My kids especially loved the rowdy cow train ride which they rode 3 times. The staff is really nice and the peanut brittle was really good. The only thing we missed was the rows and rows of pumpkins but they had a good selection, it just wasn't the main event. The main event here is the huge corn maze which my sons thought was a fun adventure. We plan to go back in the spring for strawberry picking! Pros: very friendly, cow train, peanut brittle!! Cons: small pumpkin selection more

Great family fun 10/24/2009

We highly recommended Phillips farms. They had 2 levels of mazes, with trails wide enough for a baby stoller. There was a separate play ground with a small hay bail maze, slides, and corn 'sand box'. They also had a traditional hay ride as well as a cow themed trailer that was a bit faster/more adventurous. The staff were extremely friendly. Best brittle I've had in a very long time. We'll definitely be going back. Pros: Plenty of activities, friendly staff, refreshment stand Cons: Need larger food items more

Fall fun right around the corner! 10/20/2009

There's no need to drive all the way to Youngsville to find a great corn maze...It was so nice to find great fall fun right around the corner in Cary! I have been to 2 or 3 other corn mazes/farms in the triangle area and Phillips Farm Corn Maze truly stands out above the rest! I spent over 2 hours today with my 2 kids (18mos and 5) along with their entire daycare and had a fantastic time and made some great memories - make sure you bring your camera, there are lots of moments to be captured on film! Our favorite was the ""cow-train"" tractor ride driven and narrated by the very charming owner (I think he was the owner). He clearly loved the kids and went out of his way to make sure they all had a great time. He even let my son climb up on this tractor for a picture - he's still talking about that! There were lots of other fun activities including a ""cornbox"", duck races, corn-cob cannon, hayride (with music), slides, mazes....fun for kids of all ages (and adults!) - If your looking for a great family activity, this is it! We can't wait to go back and plan on taking out-of-town guests back this weekend! A great find! Pros: Fun for all ages, great staff! more

DON'T MISS THE MOST AMAZING FARM FOR HALLOWEEN FUN! 10/20/2009

I just returned from 2 1/2 hours of crazy Halloween fun. My friend and I brought with us a group of mostly preschool age kiddos and their elementary age siblings. The kids were 1 1/2, 2 yrs, 3, yrs, 4 yrs, 5 yrs, and 2nd and 5th grade. There was something for everyone. They have a big sandbox that is filled with corn kernels instead of sand - so fun to dig in with shovels and your hands and feet. There is a huge haystack for the kids to climb, a haystack tunnel to crawl through, a climber that has 2 slides coming from it- one is a 20 foot tube that dumps you out into a pile of hay. There are big corn mazes as well as a kid-sized one made from hay piles. The kids loved running through this pint sized version. We didn't go in the big corn mazes, but I am sure it's as amazing as everything else. They have old fashioned hand pumps connected to troughs to race rubber duckies. That was so much fun for the elementary age kids as well as the ""corn cannon"" where they shot corn husks at haystacks. There is a snack bar area with picnic tables. The highlight for the kids were the 2 tractor rides-- one a hayride and the other a ""cow train"" ride. We felt safe the whole time. There is a trail around the 2 ponds on the property and up a hill and through a field. It was crazy bumpy and so much fun. The cow train is made up of barrels that are painted like cows. You really feel the bumps in that one. It was way better than any kiddie ride at the fair. Even the adults in our group went on it so the little ones could enjoy it, too. Don't forget your camera to capture all these special memories. Our time was worth every cent and we all want to come back again next year, maybe even again this year. Take some time in the next couple weeks to spend a few hours playing with your children. This is one special place with fun for all ages! And I do want to mention that all the guys working there were incredible. They love kids and went out of their way to make everyone's day fun. This family knows how to have fun and wants to be sure you are safe and have a ton of fun, too! Pros: Super fun pumpkin farm with tons of activities for all ages! more

Fall Fun for the Whole Family! 10/11/2009

We just hosted a 5-year-old birthday party at Phillips Farms. Best party place EVER! There's an activity for every age group, from infants on up to seniors. Particular favorites for us: the hay ride, the cow train and the kids' area with a corn pit (similar to a sandbox), duck races, small maze and giant slide. We'll be back another weekend to try the big maze-- we just ran out of time to check it out with all the other activities. Very reasonably priced, lots of room for kids to run around, covered picnic area, and outstanding service from the Phillips family. A must-see!! Pros: something for everyone; friendly, family-run more

Wonderful Family Fun 10/9/2009

We went today with a group of friends and expected the kids to have a good time. To our surprise, not only the kids ages 6 to 11 had fun, but we did too. It was old fashioned fun for the whole family. We absolutely loved it!!!! Pros: Different activities for Everyone more

Best Time 10/6/2009

My 4 yr old and my 6 month old really had the best time. The corn bin was a hit as was the duck race. Everyone was so nice - we had the best afternoon. Can't wait to go again with Daddy. Pros: fun for all ages more

all day fun! 10/5/2009

We visited Phillips corn maze last Saturday. The maze was nice size, and we made it in good time. I went with three little ones (8, 6, and 2 years old) and also grandparents, and nobody was complaining! just nice size. The fee also includes hay ride, cow train ride, play ground... which had neat things like duck race and corn cannon. and I have to mention that we could go back there the same day at night for haunted maze! (Friday and Saturday nights only) oh, they did such great job, we had so much fun! and the people there are very nice as well. truly highly recommended. more

Awesome Fall Family Fun 10/4/2009

So much fun today - it was laid back, super fun and great to spend a fall weekend with the family! You have to come!!! Pros: GREAT well rounded family fun Cons: non more

You Gotta Go 10/4/2009

So glad we went to this farm/maze instead of others! Spent 3 hours with kids age4,7,and 9. They all loved it. $1 of every ticket goes to Kay Yow Cancer research. So impressed with the 21 year old who's idea this was - he runs it and does a terrific job! Great to support someone like this. Pros: Good for all ages more

Lots of Family Fun 10/3/2009

Went with several families, kids ranged from preteen to teen. Everyone had a great time. Corn box, super fast slide, corn cannon and cow ride were favorite activities. The maze is really hard: 3 tries and still couldn't find all of the numbers in order (doesn't stop you from completing maze; it was just the challenge of trying to go through with out skipping numbers). American History trivia questions are definitely challenging; there are several trivia categories to choose from. Mr. Phillips and his staff are wonderful people: very friendly and family-oriented atmosphere. Also, prices are very reasonable, especially the concession stand! Try the peanut brittle: it's home-made and delicious! Pros: Variety of Fun Things to Do more

Great day out for every member of the family 10/3/2009

We spent the afternoon at Phillips Corn Maize with 4 boys. Two are 10 year olds, 2 are 14. Yes, the 14 year olds had a blast! Where else can you take kids and teens and everyone has fun?! There are actually 2 mazes, one is more challenging. There is even a trivia game inside one. The cow ride was the favorite of the younger boys. A very nice man drives you around the farm- he is on a John Deere, and the cow train is pulled behind. The kids cannot get enough of this ride. Mine begged to ride it over and over. We went home after a full 3 hours and came back at dusk. The hayride and the full moon were perfect. Walking the corn maze at dark is great -and they supply the flashlights. There is a haunted hayride on Fridays and Saturdays- we didn't try that. Lots of people were on it, though. Just go, it is a great day and a GREAT way to support local agribusiness! Pros: Corn Maize, corn shooter, cow ride, slide more

a ""maze""ing fun for little and big kids 9/30/2009

My kids and I went to the corn maze today. My son , 6, and daughter ,4, had a blast. I must say I enjoyed the cow tractor ride and then the hayride! We had so much fun doing the trivia game through the maze, playing in a huge sand box filled with corn, using old pumps to race ducks, and play in the hay tunnels and slides. We stayed for 2 hours and could have stayed longer ! The family runnng the maze were all super friendly. A must for the family or a kid outing with friends. Pros: fun maze, ""corn""box, cow ride, hayride, play hay area more

LOVED IT!!!!! 9/30/2009

Thanks so much to the Phillips Family for an outstanding daycation for our grandchildren, nieces and nephews. We went as a group of 11, got a group discount, and had over 4 hours of family fun. The maize was not as easy as the adults expected, but the older kids got it pretty fast. The other actractions were great especially for the little ones. I think they would have stayed in the corn box all day! We all also loved the cow train and hayride. The corn shooter was alot of fun with the older kids too! We will come back again next year!! Pros: Hayride is oats not hay so those with allergies can enjoy Cons: Becareful on the slide make sure kid go down ONLY sitting up more

Fun Outing! 9/26/2009

I had a great 2.5 hours with my 8 year old son and his boy scout troop one Sunday afternoon. It couldn't have been a more perfect day weather wise! I can't imagine going thru the maze if it was a very hot day. There certainly is so much to do for the money! Everyone was very friendly and good with the kids. It was very clean & organized. I highly recommend coming with the whole family. I might have to go back in Oct at night for some spooky fun! Pros: so close to home! more

Brought 8 kids - everyone loved it 9/21/2009

We brought 8 kids: 5 teenagers, a 12, 10, and 8 year old. All of them had a great time. Because there were ten of us we were given a group discount. We were there for 3.5 hours and finally dragged them away with the promise of ice cream. The bigger kids want to back one night and do the maze with flashlights in the dark. They did the maze three times. First time just to work through it. Second time to see who could run it the fastest. Third, they were in there playing tag. In addition to the maze they loved the corn cannon and the corn pit. All 8 of the kids were wallowing around in the corn taking turns getting buried. Pros: In Cary more

Pretty cool place 9/20/2009

It's $10 for adults and $6 for kids, but you really do get your money's worth. I'd recommend coming early because it's an all-day pass. The staff was friendy and they did things to make it interesting, like having questions and answers inside the maze to help you find your way. We spent 2-1/2 hours there and only went home because it was dinner time, not because we ran out of things to do. I was pleasantly surprised that they sold sodas for only 75c a can. Other than snacks and drinks, everything is free once you pay for admission. Pros: More than a maze and kept the adults entertained too. more

Soccer team visits the maze 9/19/2009

The soccer team my daughter is on visited the Phillip's corn maze today. The girls had a great time doing the maze with their Coach. The corn cannon is a HOOT! They had fun on the slide and the hay ride. The Phillip's corn maze is just a few miles straight up from the Cedar Fork Soccer Field on GOOD HOPE CHURCH ROAD. Pros: Fun! more

Fun Filled Day for the Whole Family 9/19/2009

For less then the price of a movie for the family you can enjoy two corn mazes, hayrides, cow train ride, a huge slide, rubber duck water race, corn cannon and much more. What's even better is that you can come back the same day with your wrist ban and enjoy it all over again. My children went into the corn maze several times and could not get enough of the corn cannon. The staff was friendly and personable greeting you upon arrival and saying thank you upon leaving. We are going back in October for the weekend haunted corn maze and hayride. We pick strawberries in the Spring at Phillips Farm and will now the add the corn maze to our traditional fall outings. Pros: Prices are great for all day fun activities more

Wonderful for the kids! 9/18/2009

We took our four kids to the farm when we saw the signs and had a fantastic time. The farm exceeded expectations and had more to offer than any farm we have been to in the triangle area. We had a blast playing in the ""corn box"" that is a sandbox but with corn, a safe, clean playground area (no animals so it doesn't smell!) and a small hay maze and hay tunnel for the kiddos. The corn maze aMAZEd us with it's complexity but we felt safe since someone was watching us from a tower to help us if we got truly lost. The family had a wonderful attitude and even took us on both a hay ride with an educational tutorial on the history of the ponds and a cool cow ride that is driven by a tractor. The guys at the farm even allowed us to shoot from this contraption called a ""corn cannon"" and tried to shoot the bulls eyes from far away. The helpfulness of the employees and the enthusiasm along with the cleanliness and creativity of the farm will bring us back every week throughout the fall. Truly a great outdoor, Fall experience! more
