Lousy Business Practices 1/4/2011

Had gotten quote to do dental work on our cat. Two days before,the appointment, they call and give us another quote 40% higher than a quote, already competative with other locations. Said "we are just trying to be honest". Really?!?!?! Honesty is giving a quote and then increasing it right before you come in!?!? NO - honesty is honoring the quote they provided.at the time of consult. After reading other reviews here and other locations, I am glad we are cancelling and going elsewhere. PVS is the best! 12/2/2010

I've been bringing my pets to PVS for over 12 years. We have seen multiple vets at PVS over the years and all but one has been totally awesome with my babies. One benefit of PVS is that if you like a vet that is conservative and cautious, you will find them here. If you prefer a vet that is up on the latest treatments and experimental medicine, you will find them here. If you want a vet that prescribes natural remedies, you will find them here. Their hydrotherapy, accupuncture, and massage therapy programs are awesome. There are few places that offer as many services as PVS. And the staff is fabulous. They never make you feel like your inconveniencing them and they will go out of their way to accomodate you. My babies are extremely important to me and I would not trust anyone else with their care. more

great facility and care 11/25/2010

Weve taken both our kitties here for treatments for illnesses and check ups and have been very impressed with the compassionate attitudes of the physicians and the quality of the facility in terms of technology and tools and staff. Pewaukee Vet is run like a professional hospital and care facility. Pets are respected and so are their parents. more

BIG THUMBS DOWN! 10/13/2010

This is a new nice-looking facility, BUT DO NOT BE FOOLED. My dog died (2010) due to an over-confident and inept vet who did not take my dogs condition seriously enough to take the necessary precautions before surgery. My dog was also not monitored closely post- surgery; internal bleeding was not discovered until it was too late to do anything about it. All I can do is tell my story and try to prevent someone else from experiencing this awful heartbreak. This absolutely should not have happened. This was a young dog. I regret ever walking through their door. I would give them a NO STAR rating if I could, but it's required to post. My pet's life was not valued by this vet, he not only showed no compassion, he showed complete indifference to a dying dog and couldn't get the dog and us out of his facility fast enough. HUGE THUMBS DOWN for Pewaukee Veterinary Service! more

Overvaccinated my healthy bulldog who DIED 8/13/2010

My healthy 8 year old 35 lb. bulldog died after getting vaccinated by a doctor at PVS in 2005. 2 days later she couldn't hold her head upright. She defecated in her sleep. She was dead within 10 days and a necropsy performed at UW-Madison Veterinary Hospitals showed she died of an autoimmune reaction. The lining around her brain was swollen, as were her tonsils. more

perform overpriced services that are not needed. 11/3/2009

Being new in the area,we were looking for a vet close to home and professional.When my wife told me what they wanted to do andinsisted on doing we got a $230.00 bill for 1 visit,2 unneeded tests run,2 heartworm pills and some ear solution.I called my vet back home who stated that his cost would have been $150.00 and those tests were most likely unnecessary.I will obviously not go back and will never recommend such a place to do business with. Pros: none Cons: all of the above more

You can tell that the doctors and staff of Pewaukee Veterinary Service are not only providers of superior veterinary services for your pet but care about your pets almost as much as you do. We had to put our 16.5 year old dog to sleep this February. They gave all of us especially our children, the support we needed as we said good-bye to a valued member of our family. more

We've been very happy with almost all of Pewaukee Vet Services. We now have picked our favorite vet doctor to see, and the hours are convenient. The building is large and spacious. The groomers and kennel are onsite which is very convenient. more

I've been taking my dogs to the Pewaukee Veterinary Service for years. The great staff here has cared for my dogs in routine check ups, planned neutering and teeth cleaning procedures, urgent tumor removal and an emergent head wound. Each time, I had total confidence that my beloved pets were being taken care of by the best. Their hours allow a lot of flexibility in drop off and pick up times. The staff is just wonderful. more
