This was my first time boarding my 10-year old dog Ruby at this pathetic facility. I am taking every possible legal action against the owner. When I picked her up after a 5-day stay, the owner Steve said she was ""bleeding a little"" from an old collar injury (an injury that had healed long ago when she was abused by a previous owner and before I rescued her from the shelter). In actuality she had an open gaping wound in her shoulder which was bleeding profusely. Steve said she had that injury when I dropped her off, one of many lies he told in an attempt to cover his negligence (if she had such an injury, why did he accept the animal and why didn’t he call a Vet?). I immediately took her to my Vet, who determined she had a deep puncture wound which penetrated her shoulder muscle (see photos). It had gone untreated for days and was so badly abscessed that she will not suture it until the infection and swelling is gone. What infuriates me most about this episode is that Steve admitted knowing about the injury and did nothing about it for days. He could have taken her to the Vet. He could have segregated her from the animal that attacked her. He could have called me to let me know what happened and to ask me what to do. He did none of those things. It’s truly disgusting that a so-called animal care provider could act in such a callous and unprofessional manner toward a pet in his care. To preempt Steve’s inevitable attempt to deny this happened (as with previous complaints): I am not a former employee, I had no prior knowledge of him or his business until now, and I have no personal axe to grind. But rest assured I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau, the ASPCA, county animal control services, the Sherriff’s office, and my attorney. I plan to do everything in my power to put Steve out of business and in jail for animal cruelty where he belongs.
