Petland

This store is absolutely horrible - one of the worst experiences of my life. My girlfriend and I had been waiting a long time to buy a dog. We found the one we wanted at Petland but we weren't prepared or ready to own a dog. We paid double the value of the dog and hundreds more on insurances, puppy supplies, and taxes. By the time we left the store we had spent over $2,000.00. We realized the next day that it would be in the best interest of the puppy if we returned him and let him go to another home. The store offers a 48 hour window for returns (as if that's an adequate time for puppy and owners to adjust - ridiculous). When we took him back the manager told us we would have to pay a fee for them to take him back - fair enough, that makes sense. We then found out this fee was %40 of the price of the dog. The insurance was non-refundable and the supplies were also non-refundable. In addition, The day we took the puppy home we had to take him to the Vet because there was blood in his stool and had to pay another $60 for a test. After everything, we ended up paying Petland nearly $1,400.00 to take the puppy back. That's $1,400.00 and we ended up with a crate and some dog food. As I walked out of the store the girl at the front desk told me ""thanks for coming in"". I'm not sure if she was that ignorant or just plain stupid. I would recommend adopting from the pound - I never understood why so many stressed that until now. If I could give Petland a 0/5 stars I would. I live up on the west side of town in the summerlin area (close to the charleston location) but ended up purchasing my puppy from the henderson location on a whim while I was on that side of town... more

On November 6, 2009 I purchased a Dalmatian/mix puppy at Petland, Henderson located at 510 Marks St. Henderson, NV. At that time the salesperson said he was healthy and eating well. She gave him a treat he coughed and she said he was just having a hard time with the treats, and I assumed she was correct as she was the professional. We fell in love with him and purchased him for $288.88, plus the ups and extras of the kennel etc. with a total of $481.39. At the time of the purchase they showed me their vet records that showed he had his first set of shots and was healthy and also the record of him eating well. Pros: They sell sick Puppies and don't care Cons: Will not help with vet bills more

I purchased a puppy here and was lied to by the store manager. I asked her if they used puppy mills and she said no they didn't, then I find out that they are one of the worst offenders for using puppies from puppy mills. My puppy had giardia and a resistant strain of respiratory infection that after a month we are still seeing the vet for. Please PLEASE if you love animals in any way do NOT solicit this store so we can put an end to animal abuse and neglect and deceptive sales practices. more

My Husband and I bought Puppy on july 08,07 We fell in love witha beautiful Cocker spaniel we paid $1,000.00 for her sadly to find out 4days later from our vet. That she has Ear mites and 2 severe ear infection that had been on going for awhile. When I called PETLAND to inform them and hoping they would give us back some our money . I was told by the store manager ""Bobby"" that there are no refund or compensation. I did not want to return the puppy but I would like some compensation. I was told by their staff that she a health cocker spaniel. I did some research on Pet land after the fact. If I would have known about how PETLAND treats their animals and customers I would have never bought a puppy from them .
