I took my curly haired dog here because I wanted to get him a hair cut ASAP and my regular groomer had no openings. I made the appointment and came in to drop off my dog and was shocked. I had been satisfied with this Petco and other Petcos but had never used their grooming services. The grooming room smelled so bad of number 1 and 2 and of very dirty animals. I felt nauseous and in retrospect, I can't believe I left my dog there! I told them that I would like my dog's hair cut to be left as long as they could. My dog had some mats and normally my regular groomer would have tried brushing and combing some it first and then left it fairly short but not shaved to the skin. I left my dog and they immediately put him in the back in one of the metal crates. My husband picked our dog up later in the day and paid $55 for the cut. When I saw our dog at home I noticed that they had shaved him down to the skin and left his two sacks cut. The next day, I took our dog to the vet because the cut was inflammed and bothering him and they gave me a head cone and some medication to prevent infection. I went back to Petco the next night and told a couple of the checkout people about it and they offered a free pet grooming. I said no thank you and that I would prefer to never have my dog groomed there again.
Pros: good location, convenient
Cons: dirty, smells gross, the groomer i met was gruff
