Still Waiting! 6/21/2009

Petco has the worst customer service. Every time I try to get help in the aquatics department I have to wait forever for some one to talk to me. By the time someone shows up, there are a ton of people waiting to be helped. Even when I call for a simple question, Im put on hold...FOREVER! more

Great Job considering... 10/7/2008

Considering I know the reasons why most of these people are complaining, Petco is pretty good. \r \r They don't have enough employees because of budgeting of the corporation.\r \r They don't always know all the answers because 1) They usually aren't trained about every particular animal, and 2) there is lots of conflictual information about certain animals, so it's hard to tell the customer the "right" info. If you go to Petco, and you have a really particular/important question, ask for the Certified person for the particular animal you are talking about. There are certified Aquatics specialists and certified Reptile specialists; they just don't work every day.\r \r Petco does not sell dogs and cats because it is illegal in Kern County to sell dogs and cats retail, and I would suggest if you're going to a petstore to buy a dog or cat, look up the word "puppy mill". Either buy your dog or cat from a private breeder, or better yet, Adopt! more

Petco is a great place to shop for your pets. The grooming staff is excellent, its the only place I get my dog groomed. They always have great deals on items.Their always busy so that must mean something. they are always well stocked on the items i need. They have great customer service and well trained people there. Its the only place i shop for my animals and i always recommend them to everyone. more

Crappy service.. 5/12/2008

you can just tell that no one there was even trained on the animals they have there! They can't answer much, they're usually just start guessing, and they aren't so great at handling the animals. \r \r Usually when I go in there no one greets the customers... they just look pissed off! I always wonder, what in the world is wrong with them? I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone!! more

I love taking my dogs to petco they are so friendly and the store is always clean for being and animal store. THey have great prices and im always getting coupons in the mail. I would recomend to any pet owner. more

Petco 6/20/2005

I was excited when this store opened up in town. Before the only similar retailer was Petsmart. This is a cool store, they sell many name brand things you cant find at other pet stores. I like buying science diet dog food in here. The staff is usually friendly but they are busy in here. more

There are now two petco's in town. They are both about the same. It is always very nice and neat in here and they have good sales prices on premium dog food. They have a program where if you buy so many bags in a year you get a free bag of dog food. more

This is a nice looking Petco store. The employees are very friendly. They do not always know the answers to questions but they tend to answer them truthfully. Petco has good sales often to. they have a cool little dog cookie bar in here which is really neat and unique. more

very nice looking 6/15/2005

This particular Petco is very modern looking and has been in town for about five years or so. They attract a lot of business and good people to the area. They have a grooming section, fish section, lizard section, dog and cat and much more. The store seems to lack employees or they dont have enough working at any given time. But it is still a nice store to shop at. more

This is a newer Petco it is very modern looking. They are setup where it is pretty cool to walk around and check stuff out. It is really easy to find stuff for a specific pet. The store is usually clean and you can bring your pet in here while you shop, many people bring their dogs. more

This petco is in a very good location, it is easy to get to and the store is always very clean. Sometimes they dont have enough shopping carts though but I really enjoy the high quality items that they sell in here. more

Petco has nice items for your pets. But I have to say their service is not what I would expect it to be. They are short on employees no matter what time of the day or week that you go. They are usually well stocked on items and they have a lot of stuff here that I cannot find any place else. more

Petco does not sell cats or dogs which is a disapointment to me. I like going to petstores to look at the cats and the dogs. They occasionally have adoption days for pets but they usually only bring two or three animals in the store. They also do not have a vet inside the store like the petsmart I am used to go to. This petco never has enough works because I can never find anyone to help me. It's always busy and there are never any shopping carts available. more

not the best pet shop 4/20/2005

This is not my favorite pet shop. I have salt water fish and I go in here occasionally to look at their saltwater fish. They only have about five tanks of them, not a big selection at all. I wish they would carry more of a selection of them and I would consider shopping here more often. more

The employee told me wrong information 4/19/2005

I have shopped in here several times and one time the employee who worked in the fish department told me some bogus information about a particular fish. I knew for a fact that is was incorrect. I shop here for other pet supplies. They never seem to have enough help or enough shopping carts for the customers. more

They tend to have a lot of items out of stock. I used to shop here all the time but another problem was that I could never find anyone to help me. They never seem to have enough employees. The store is very nice and clean inside. It's not convienent shopping here if you need help getting stuff, if you don't need any help then it's a great place to shop. more
