I had a desire to get my cat a toy. I was about in town & decided to stop into PETCO. They had a toy I thought my cat would like, on sale for 21.49 from 24.99. Sort of expensive but I was in the mood. The cashier asked if I had there store card, I said no, asked if I wanted one, I said no. The rung up price was the off sale amount, guess I hadn't read the fine print on the sign. I walked out without the item. I'm giving this store a poor review for two reasons. First, you shouldn't have to divulge your person contact information that would be required for that store card. You know they are going to sell that information to everyone & anyone who'll give 2 cents for it. If someone chooses to do that, give them the 5 % off extra that is one the promotion for signing up. Secondly, after I walked out of the store I went to eat, got out my smartphone, went to Amazon, & bought the very same thing for $12.97 with free shipping. Big different, huh? Even their sale price was a rip-off. Religate these stores that are accustomed to being the only act in town for a given product & therefore able to gouge at will to the following. Make them showrooms for the online businesses that can provide you the same products at the very best competitive prices. Go to PETCO, find what you want, write down the name, walk out, & then order the same product for 40 - 50 % off at an online retailer. We do not need these gouging businesses. Want a new pet? Go to the humane society. more

I just got back from getting my Akita, Kuma groomed from the Petco in Grand Forks, ND. This is the 2nd time I have had him groomed at this location and the second time I have been charged more than what I was told. He is a 73 lb Akita and needs groomed only once a year to remove his winter coat. Last year I was charged for a larger dog and for special handling. Spoke to the manager and the special handling was only for someone to help put him in a kennel and a dryer and the manager said that was wrong. This year the same thing happened. The manager told me though that I was being undercharged anyway. She was dissmissive and plainly, rude. I will not go to another Petco He looked beautiful, but I would rather pay $100 for a professional than be treated miserably by this chain store more

i found petco to be clean and the employees were very helpful. the only problem i saw was that it a little hard to find what i was looking for. i believe that the arrangement of the store could be a little more friendly usable. the fish that i was looking at seem to be very healthy and i did not notice any dead ones in the tanks, also, the tanks seemed to be taken care of very well. they were nice and clean without being overfilled with fish. the pricing seemed to be on the average if not a little cheaper than the other pet stores that are located in the malls. the store seemed to stocked with a wide selection of pet supplies, so i feel that what ever that i need for my own pets i know that i can go to petco and get what i need. more
