We've been customers at Petstop on Nieman Rd. for over 15 years or so. We love and appreciate the friendly, quick attention we get as soon as we come in. Greg, Andy, and many others there, whose names I can't remember right now, are always so helpful and fun to talk to. They are also good listeners, who are interested in your pet and your problems and they always ask how things are going with your interests. Greg has helped us out with so much advice on our herpetology & aquarium hobbies. We can always count on finding what we need when we go there. When we moved away from Shawnee 5 years ago, we began shopping other stores that were closer to our new neighborhood. But we have never found equal satisfaction at other stores. I found it frustrating that when I ran out of an item and I'd try to pick it up at a store on my way home, they'd not have it. I'd go to another one in my area or another and it was just a "wild goose chase"; sometimes they'd have it & sometimes they wouldn't. But every time I made the trip back to Petsop in Shawnee, I'd get it. Now I hardly shop the others, I'm sure to stock up on my most needed items when I'm at Petstop. I enjoy seeing all the animals and the employees are happy to get an animal out for you and tell you more about it (even though they know you aren't interested in buying it.) Greg has also helped others find a home for pets that could no longer be kept by the owner. I don't have children of my own, but almost everytime I'm there, I see many children enjoying & learning about the animals. It is an environment where children are welcomed and their curiosity is fed. This is perhaps the most beautiful quality of the leadership and staff at this store. Though the prices on some items may be higher than the chain stores there are always good deals and coupons to take advantage of. The great customer service, availability of good products is well worth the longer trip or a few cents more on a particular product.
Pros: ambience, service
Cons: sometimes very busy
