Although the staff here seems to be caring-from the enthusiastic owner to each of the staff members who work the ""floor"" with the dogs, there is an impersonal tone to this business. The owner may be energetic, but is not often visible-she may be there but she is seldom greeting her clients. They advocate their trademarked ""Gentle Method"", which is a way of modifying behavior to eliminate barking in your dog. It amounts to a staff member ""leashing"" your dog into a sit as soon as they bark. If this continues, your dog is crated. (BTW - you never EVER punish a dog by crating them.) I now have to drag my crate trained dog into his crate which he used to happily run in to while he awaited his treat. If you are okay with all of this, then Pet Companions is the place for your dog. If you have a dog of any size that wants to to run, play, bark and have fun, this is simply not the place for you. Do not even bother. Although the staff seems to be caring, do not expect a report of who they played with and what goofy things that your dog did that day. You are handed your dog on a leash in an impersonal manner while the staff member who typically answers inquiries with the statement that they ""don't know because they just arrived and did not spend time with (your) dog"", then they disappear behind a closed door. The last day there, I was told that my dog had a 'little' problem, and that someone from the office would call me tomorrow because that staff member of course just got there. I got a Voice Mail 3 days later (on a Friday) from someone I had never met who said they were leaving in 10 minutes so ""call me back on Monday"", but that my dog was welcome to come back. Not getting call when there was a problem is unacceptable THAT is what you pay for. Needless to say I was underwhelmed.
