Pestos has some "goods" and some "not-so-goods". If you are looking for real Italian food, this is not the place. I have tried many of the things on the menu and I never say "Oh that was great". The food is just "Okay". The soups are all made with the same base, which makes them all taste the same. I can't quite put my finger on what the familiar flavor is in all of the soups, but they all have it. The one menu item that I do like are the Breadstick and Cheese sauce appetizer, this is the reason I return to Pestos. The Chicken Ceasar Salad is fairly good as well...if the chicken is cooked all the way through, which has been an issue for me on more than one occasion. The atmosphere is okay, it is very pretty inside, but very noisey. I think the high ceilings and the fact that it is a very large room with stone floors is the reason for it being so loud. It is less noisey in the bar area, but it is very smokey. On the nights where they have in house music, do not expect to be able to talk to your dinner companions. For me this is why I go out to eat, for the conversation. The service is "hit or miss", it depends on the server.
