Last night I worked for a company for the first time called Personal Opinions. I heard about them through word of mouth by name but nothing really about them. So I went to their website and filled out their application. I didn't hear anything for a couple months. Last week I received my first call.
I was asked several questions and was told I would most likely receive a call back, which I did. During the call back I was given a spot for a discussion group. For this discussion group I would earn $60 cash for a 90 minute session.
I arrived and they were shocked that they had no cancellations. Since they overbooked, they needed to send 3 of us home. They then asked everyone 2 generic questions and determined which 3 would leave. I was shocked I was one picked to leave. I felt my answers showed I was not afraid to voice an opinion and not go with the mainstream. A few minutes later we received an apology and was told they were finishing up paperwork and we would still receive our payment! I honestly didn't realize I would still receive the full payment, though it does lend credibility to this business. They contracted me for a job and so I received my contract paid in full.
A few minutes later we received payment and left. The people were cordial. They seemed well organized on the phone and in person. From what I understand, companies hire them to gather people's opinions on topics or products. They go through their database and search for people to fit into groups. They bring the people in and conduct the groups for research purposes. I have done this before, but not for this company. I am satisfied that they are a good and reputable company to work for.
