Charming little place on Main Street, Alhambra, to stop for dessert and coffee (it's open till 10pm); glass cases with beautiful pastries and cafe-type seating. Always smells amazing as they do the baking on-site. Go for the Florentines--chocolate-dipped crispy shells filled with custard and topped with fresh fruit. Mexican cookies are also great, as is the carrot cake and the tres leches (which has a dash of espresso for a tiramisu-type taste). Lemon bars and coconut cake are disappointingly bland despite obvious caloric density. Prices reasonable at $4 per mini dessert (ample food for one or to share).
Pros: quaint decor, open late, beautiful desserts
Cons: some bland desserts
