""I came to this eye doctor’s office with my daughter by recommendation of our pediatrician. My daughter failed the vision screening at school and also complained about how tired her eyes were getting during school. Dr. Galinsky was very friendly and thorough, and I really liked how she interacted with my child to make her comfortable. My daughter was worried before the exam, but the doctor took care of that with ease. She took her time to explain things to me and did not rush at all. We ended up getting glasses for her to be able to see the board in class better. The optician was also very friendly and knowledgeable. He helped us pick 2 pairs – one covered by the insurance and I bought one spare pair. My daughter loves them because they are so girly! I was very impressed and made appointments for me, my older daughter and husband to be examined too. We have 2 insurances in the family and they accept both, as well as our union plans. My co-worker recommended Dr. Galinsky to me and said his entire family goes there and loves her. I haven’t had an eye exam in over 3 years and felt that I was not seeing well in my glasses anymore when driving. The doctor was great – I really appreciated the time she took to examine and explain the results to me. She suggested I get glasses for reading and distance. She also told me that I was developing glaucoma and would need to be monitored every 6 months for now. I felt comfortable with her explanations. The staff that did the tests and helped me pick glasses were very friendly as well, and told me about the lens options and what I could do to make the driving experience better with anti-reflection coating, as well as how the transitions could help me during the day (I work mostly outside). I did not feel pushed into buying any of these add-ons, but it made sense to me to have them since I’m going to be wearing the glasses all day. ""I found this office through my insurance listing last December (I have VSP) because I wanted to try contact lenses and was getting tired of wearing glasses every day. I don’t mind glasses occasionally, but feel that after going elsewhere for the past 2 years I can’t see that sharp in my glasses. When I came for the appointment and told the staff what I wanted, I was advised that my insurance would only cover either glasses or contacts. I decided to get glasses and then paid separately for the contacts exam. I found it to be reasonably priced. I was very impressed how the doctor managed to come up with my contact prescription and suggest the brand (Acuvue Oasys) that after putting in a trial lenses right in the office I could see so much clearer then with my old glasses and did not even feel the lenses in my eyes. I wore them for about a week, came back for one final check and bought the annual supply – the optician told me that Acuvue had rebates on exam and annual supply of lenses. I did some price checking before that, but their price was not that much higher, plus the rebate made a big difference. The doctor is very patient and answered all my questions. The exam was very thorough. I picked up 2 frames: one for reading and one with prescription sunglasses at a great price. The staff were courteous and knowledgeable. I am definitely bringing my family and recommending to my friends. more
