My son was having his air conditioning serviced. He has a 1991 Audi in perfect condition. He was told his air conditioning needed to be converted to a newer type. He asked the the system be tested first by presure testing with a dye. That was done and the system was declared as no problem. Everything was fine. He had the conversion done and the system charged for just over $200. Another test was done after the system was converted. It was declared as OK no problems. He left Pep boys and within 30 minutes the air conditioning stopped working. The car was brought back and the air was checked and Pep Boys annouced there was a leak and it would cost an addition $425 to fix. I spoke to the service manager for the area and after much discussion pep Biys agreed to fix the air for $50 so it cost $260 total instead of $650. I guess that's a good experience.
