This store is very nice looking. However its a spice store more focused on appearance than its products.
A store this size should have a much larger selection of spices than it has. Pretty much they have the basics that you would find in a normal grocery store. About half of the products are pre-made mixes. Personally I'm not a fan of mixes. I'm a cook and would much rather make my own. Plus a lot of them aren't authentic.
Something else you'll notice is that the prices are ridiculous. Compaired to a normal grocery store its probably just a few cents too a dollar cheaper. Most of the good spices are more expensive though.
The biggest problem I have with this store is the packaging. The problem with this is the fact that your forced into having to buy that much. Sure it looks nice but your probably going to only use those Juniper Berries once if your the average cook. So basically your paying for the jar, NOT the spices.
If your looking for a good Spice and Herb store go too ""Limbo"". They have a much larger selection of spices than Penzys, its in a small area so it can get tight though. You have to weigh your own spices which is a pain fir some older people and yuppies, but its worth it. On average most of the spices are less than a $1 for an oz. They have very hard to find spices like ""Grains of Paradise"".
Pros: Already pre-messured
Cons: Selection, Pre-messured, Price
