Pensacourt

I have had a health club membership for many years now, and Pensacourt has really proven to be something special. It's not the newest club by any means, but the people who work there are really friendly, and I get alot out of the classes (which are included!!). I have high blood pressure and am diabetic. The owner is a Doctor, and they really gear the club's activities to making you healthy, and to help you control the issues you have. In the nine months that I have been a member, I have lost 53 pounds!!, and my own Dr. has allowed me to go off of one of my BP meds because with my workout regimine, I no longer need it! Pensacourt has helped me to change my lifestyle and create some new good habits. I also have found enough encouragment at Pensacourt to really stick with my workouts, and my diet is also helping me keep my daily blood-sugar numbers in a MUCH healthier range! If you want to go to one of those big new expensive health clubs then thats fine, but I was looking for some results to help me live longer for my two kids, I am getting that now, and I could not be happier. more

It may cost a little bit more than some clubs, but certainly less that MANY. It is absolutely worth every cent! Since joining Pensacourt I'm not self-conscious; and I don't experience other members (AND staff sometimes!!) of THIS club making cruel comments behind my back as if I were deaf. If you want a supportive and relaxed environment. A knowledgeable staff that is not afraid to say: "While I am not sure of the answer to your question, but I will find out the answer for you!" I would rather have someone be honest and tell the truth, rather than make some garbage up, and it happened at my old club ALL THE TIME. I can laugh and enjoy my workouts at Pensacourt. It is a family business that treats you like family. Its good to see weight that has absolutely REFUSED to leave my behind, finally pack up and go. And best of all, I know it is gone for good, because Pensacourt did not just encourage me and help me, But gave me the tools to eat and exercise right so that I am finally in control! I cannot describe the sense of power and freedom that provides me with each and every day. Give it a try and look beyond that lack of wall to wall chrome. Its a nice club, with nice staff and I feel comfortable there; and If I can, you really can too! remember too, sometimes disgruntled Ex-employees say negative things on purpose because they were fired for being lazy or incompetent. I know of one current comment on here that was left by just such a person. It really gives people looking for good reliable information, the wrong impression, and it is not fair. I hope everyone will give Pensacourt a chance, rather than get swallowed up into some huge shiny club where you become a number. more

I joined and prepaid for personal training sessions. Unfortunately, I suffered an injury and had to discontinue my membership but when I asked for a refund for the unused personal training sessions--I was told that was "not possible." I wrote to the owner of the gym and was not even given the courtesy of a reply. Very unprofessional. OLD equipment and CRAMPED place to work out. more

Good: Friendly fitness employees and staff memebers. Great group class instructors.. Bad: Management treats their employees in an unprofessional manner. I once overheard the owner speaking negatively and disrespectfully to an employee when it was not called for and in front of members. I also do not like that the managament is not that friendly to members and they don't sincerely listen to their member's or employee's interests and concerns for improving the club's environment and equipment. They routinely try to fix equipment when it is clearly worn out and needs replacing.. Improvements: New equipment, quality management, professional staff and employees.. Other: Overall I would rate this club too expensive for the quality of service it provides. Other gyms in the area have better equipment and better facility amenities. Pensacourt doesn't have the cleanliness that other gyms provide. For the price we should be seeing updates made often. However, some staff members are very sincere and there is great customer service on their behalf. I think management should look to their employees for examples of how to treat others.. more

there is no need for anything else when you join pensacourt. they have all your fitness needs in one area. with their heated pool you can swim in the summer, and with the various work out rooms, you can take one of many of the classes that they offer! if you have kids, don't worry, they have an onsite day care for only 10$ a month! you won't find this kind of deal anywhere else! the staff is very nice and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable! more

Pensacourt has been in Pensacola since 1982. They have two locations, one on west nine mile road, the other on Langley Ave. They have certified personal trainers, weight management programs, massage therapy, kids center and nursery, corp. memberships available, senior citizen discounts, active military discount, public safety employee discount, and student memberships. They are very clean inside and have a lot of different classes and equipment to choose from. more
