I picked up my dog soaking wet and reeking of urine. I also received back half the food I gave to the place, which has never happened anywhere else. Since I picked up my dog yesterday I have had to force feed him as he can not eat by himself anymore. He hardly could move and last night to the point we were fearing for his life.
My dog is suffering from kidney failure and therefore drinks tons of water and needs to pee all the time. We informed the staff of this before boarding him and were promised they would keep an eye on his water and let him out extra. The white parts of his fur were stained yellow and when he got home he drank for 30 minutes stopping only to catch his breath and refills.
When my family expressed our concerns they told us they had just hired new people who must not have understood the routine. That it was Christmas time and therefore they may have been too busy to make sure he wasn't sitting in his own urine, something I know from personal experience that even the pound will take care of. All of the employees said that they weren't working at the time of his boarding. They said he might've not eaten and that's why we received so much food back, even though this has never happened at another boarding place. They told us that they noticed a mess before they brought him out and they rinsed him off. Even if the liquid was not visibly yellow, it bothers me they did not dry him off.
Please do not bring any animals here as I believe the staff does not care about animals. When I peaked around back looking for faucet to rinse off my dog, I noticed a dog playing by itself in a sandy pit and the "walker" standing on the porch with her arms folded. There are places in town that cost half as much that we have never had a problem with, but had to board him here due to lack of availability elsewhere. Don't take your dog here and save yourself some heart break.
