I have been nothing but disappointed by the service provided by Penny Realty since picking up my keys and beginning my lease on 2/24. It was clear from the moment I walked into my new apartment that no move-out inspection had been conducted when the last tenant moved out. Items were missing and/or broken and the place had not been cleaned. I cleaned out an entire medicine cabinet of prescription drugs!! A contractor was sent in five days after my move-in to fix the items I had initially found that needed addressing. Unfortunately, he could not complete all of them on that day and to come back the following Saturday night to fix the rest. He has been great. Viviana, the property manager, has some of the worst customer service skills I have seen. Since my move in, I have sent several emails and called multiple times in regards to other items that still need to be repaired/keys that are missing/the rent credit that we were promised for all of our troubles. On the 24th, she had told me she would accompany the contractor when he came out and I asked that she specifically be there so I could go through the list of all the problems in the apartment so the owner could be notified. When the contractor was finally scheduled to come out after work she told me she couldn't accompany him because it was "past my time and I can’t work that late". WHAT! She has refused my attempts to contact her via phone though I have specifically asked to speak to her further regarding the ongoing issues. I have now left a message with the owner of Penny as well in attempts to get someone on the phone and have not heard from anyone. I would never have signed the lease when I did knowing that the place had so many issues. more

We just rented a 2 bed, 2 bath condo in North Pacific Beach from Penny Realty. Normally, I don’t have much time to “write reviews”; however, the family is so happy in our new beach condo that I feel compelled to speak up. We interfaced with Jeff and Al at Penny Realty. The process was easy and streamlined. Within two days, we were approved with keys in hand! We leased an ocean view condo for one year. Our new lifestyle is absolutely terrific. We have a short one block walk to the sand and ocean, which we now enjoy almost daily. If you want to get hooked up with a great place at the beach, you need to call Penny Realty! more

We've had a family tradition for years of spending Labor Day weekend in San Diego w/our kids and grandkids. We've rotated thru all the big hotels i.e. Hilton and Hyatt on Mission Bay.l Always rented multiple rooms. This year we did something different. We rented a 4-bedroom home on the ocean in Mission Beach thru Penny Realty. All I can say is WOW! All the kids had a ball! So many things to do -- the ocean seemed to be right at our front door. Our rental house was decked out to the nines! Recent construction and all the amenities you would expect in a 5 Star hotel; plasma TVs in each room, big fireplace, and a kitchen to die for!! Outdoors we had a big patio, a very cool fire pit and of course, the barbecue. Penny Realty provided bikes for the kids, as well as beach chairs and boogie boards. We rented from Victoria and she was super accomodating. She even arranged to have the bicycles personally delivered to our house. If you are vacationing w/4 or more people, this is the way to go. We've already pre-reserved the same house from Penny Realty for same time next year. more

Yay! I'm a fan.... i had a pretty good experience with them renting a home in Pacific Beach. it was a great vacation for my friends and I. my rental had a kitchen and grill, so a good helpful hint would be go grocery shopping for some outdoor grilling food and s'mores stuff. But i would hold off on the fruits and veggies, there are some great farmers markets with fresh fruits. I enjoyed my stay it was fun and overall a good experience. more

Our vacation rental condo was nicely furnished, cheery and in a good location. We stayed in this condo for almost two months and the Penny Realty staff and the property owner were very responsive during this time. We rented a wonderful Ocean View luxury apartment in Pacific Beach. A great experience. We all mentioned that we will probably never rent hotel rooms again when we can get a fully equipped two bedroom condo, steps from the ocean, for less than the cost of two hotel rooms! Penny Realty was very helpful to my family. more

Our extended family rented a beach house on the Ocean Front and a house on the bay front Mission Beach. What a wonderful combination! Both homes were spacious and had big eating areas to accommodate our large group. But could have used more silverware and plates! Overall, a definite better than average vacation. Good time had by all - We love San Diego!! more

We truly had a great holiday on the bay! We stayed on the bay front of Mission Bay (3263 and 3265 Bayside Walk). The views of lights and boats at night are something else! We think we are going to make this a new family tradition. A few extra sponges/cleaning supplies in the kitchen would be helpful. Other than that, everything was 5 stars. Our family will be reserving the smae two condos during Thanksgiving next year. more

We rented a really nice house in South Mission Beach. Special attention to detail, like scented candles, soaps, etc. made this feel just like home! Kitchen was very well equipped. Victoria at Penny Realty was super accommodating. more

Our stay on the oceanfront was simply fabulous. The apartment itself was above average and the views were absolutely great! It was a new, relaxing experience to fall asleep to the ocean waves. The penny Realty staff was perfect - quick answers from our emails and problems with the apartment were solved quickly and professionally. We will be back! more

Wow, what a very nice property! We enjoyed the view and location of this property. Kind of tight as far as the houses all sat close together in proximity at the beach. Parking can be a challenge. The people were really nice and courteous at Penny Realty. We really enjoyed ourselves. Thank you for accommodating us. We will be back again. more

The property on the bay that we stayed at was very clean with a great location. There were plenty of towels and wash clothes as needed. We had extra blankets in the bedrooms when it got a little chilly at night. Lots of extras in the kitchen, like pots, dishes, spices, etc. Peggy was helpful on the phone when we needed help getting the vacation rental booked for us. People were concerned when I reported that the garage door was broken. It was a real plus to have sand toys, bikes, & boogie boards for our children. I will rent this property again. more

We stayed on the bay side. Our property was wonderful. It was close to everything and super clean. The people at Penny were great, especially Victoria. Our extended family rented two separate, three bedroom oceanfront condos for one week from Penny Realty. One condo was on the ground floor and one upstairs. This truly creates a fantastic vacation experience for big families! Both properties were very nice and clean. Nice, newer appliances. Very modern kitchen. All cooking and eating utensils were well stocked. we all agreed that this was a definite "above average" vacation. We are considering doing this same thing thru Penny Realty next summer. more

Our oceanfront home was really great! It doesn't get much better than right on the Ocean. The home was stocked with everything you could possibly need on vacation and was super clean. The only things that could be improved - more towel hooks for wet towels and the wireless Wi-Fi signal was weak at times. Other than that, all was good. The people at Penny Realty are very helpful. more

We stayed in a second floor condo overlooking The Boardwalk and the Ocean. Obviously a phenomenal location. The property was exactly as pictured on the website. A few minor issues arose and the people at Penny Realty took care of them promptly. Overall, a great vacation. We will be back to San Diego and will probably use Penny Realty again. more

We know that we can always depend on Penny realty for a great vacation rental experience. We really enjoyed our stay on the bay front. We have now rented the same condo a few times. It's very roomy. Location can't be beat. We particularly enjoy the front porch swing - great for people watching or just talking in the evening stars. more
