Best

Per our vacation, my wife and I both came here. (She is a regular, the wife), I am not a "spa" type of a man, however I have got to say this place is well done. I have had a ba...

I had a decent experience at this spa. The facialist did a good job and was very nice letting me relax during my appt. but I felt really claustrophobic during the session. It wa...

Why I don't return... 3/15/2008

I had a nice experience or two at Pelage. But I also had two really negative experiences. Cons: Poor service more

Not the Best, Over-Hyped -- Beware! 3/4/2008

I was a bit leary about going to Pelage after reading the various reviews of it in Citysearch, but I decided to give it a chance ... OK, so I was proven wrong! Citysearch's negative reviews were totally on-the-money. While it has a nice facade and seemed suitably elegant from the outside, the service was snooty, the treatment I got was waaaaaay less than average, and I just didn't feel comfortable or at home. Add to that, the prices were WAY too high and the value-for-the-money way too low--must be the overhead of Gilman Village and that they have to charge way too much so that they can make the rent. It's painfully obvious that the owner or staff are writing all of the positive reviews, IMHO. Just read the "editorial" review in their description ... does that sound objective to you? Beware of Pelage!! Pros: Nice entry and facade; apparently good selection of services Cons: POOR value, high prices, lackluster services and treatment more

I have been with them for over three years and would never go anywhere else. 1/29/2008

The spa is beatiful the staff and management always greet me by name. They have always listend to my concerns. They have always recomended more then one option and not alway the most expensive. The staff truly their to help you. I love the fact that this place as a physician and nurse on staff and are always ready to help with skin to health concerns. I will be a client for many years to come I do not trust any other spa to do the types of treatments I have had done. I also love the different types of items they sell from undergarments to jewely and much more. I just love this place and recomend Pelage. more

No WOW! 1/17/2008

I went in to have a consultation about some skin care and treatments for anti-aging. I didn't find the staff very knowledgable. I felt a bit like i was in a very small cramped area.... not really french villa ,like the review says... Just didn't have a feel good atmosphere. I decided on a pedicure!! not impressive,it was average and I must say i have had better pedicures... Pros: shopping at gilman i guess? Cons: Not a good value for your money!! more

Average, Not Exceptional 1/4/2008

Pelage fell short of my expectations. The environment wasn't very welcoming, and the spa treament I received didn't meet my standards in terms of value, quality, or service. It wasn't the worst I've had, but it certainly could only be regarded as average, at best. It seems like Pelage is trying to be more than it really is, when in fact it's just got relatively ordinary services and products that have been marked-up and over-hyped. As a frequent spa-goer and having experienced more than 300 different day spas on the West coast in the past five years, I honestly can't recommend this spa when there are so many other options locally and within relatively short travel distances. Pelage, you'll need to try a lot harder to win over this girl! Pros: Reasable variety of services available Cons: Poor value, over-hyped features/products more

More Then What I Expected 1/2/2008

Thank you Pelage!! Pros: parking right out front and FREE Cons: none more

Not What I Expected... 12/20/2007

I gave my wife a spa treatment at Pelage for her birthday. While she had an OK time, she admitted that the experience was not the best. The service wasn't up to her expectations, the room where she had a massage wasn't very clean, and it was noisy. Add to that the prices were ridiculous (that's my comment, not hers). Pros: convenient ifyou live in Issaquah or north bend Cons: noisy, not clean enough, overpriced more

Look Elsewhere 11/25/2007

My experience with Pelage was mediocre, at best. The staff and management wasn't very friendly, the wait was long, and the treatment was only average. Pros: Good location Cons: Average treatment, poor staff/management, long wait more

Continue to be Impressed! 3/2/2007

I continue to go back! I feel like the staff takes the time to get to know me... I walk in and they know me by my first name and continue to treat me like I am truly valued. Why would I go anywhere else. I have offically become a beauty card member at Pelage and love the discounts they offer me every month. Not going to find these options at any of the other high priced salons in the area. Its great to have a place that understands the meaning of customer service. I don't feel like just a paycheck at Pelage, they have taken the time to get to know what I want and continue to exceed my expectations. Thanks again Pelage! Pros: Thoughtful, Caring and Knowledgable Staff Cons: None, that I can think of more

could be better, depends on who you get 2/16/2007

I think the spa experience depends a lot on who is helping you. The lady I liked for my pregnancy massages is no longer working at Pelage, and I did not enjoy my experience with the second person. I thought the facial was so-so, and a person at the front desk gave me a thoughtless answer regarding my beauty products. They have a small personal sauna, but they don't always turn it on. Shrugs... I am trying another place for my next spa experience. Pros: clean, pleasant atmosphere Cons: quality of service is not consistent, person I liked left more

Bravo Pelage 8/9/2006

Today I went for a hike in the Issaquah Alps and finished the day with my first facial at Pelage. It was a wonderful experience from crossing the threshold through looking at my new face while driving home on I-90. THe facial was relaxing, soothing, and when the facial was complete and I could look in the mirror (okay, while driving), I was delighted to notice a significant improvement in my face (I never thought that was possible). The professional staff was helpful in recommending quality skin care products for daily use. I am now committed to a monthly facial at Pelage..due to how I feel, how I was treated, and how I look from the experience. more

Hustled out! 2/1/2006

The first time I went to pelage I had a great experience in that I had a coupon that made it a great value. atmosphere seemed nice however i was kept waiting with no one letting me know how long I could expect to wait even though I had made an appointment. The facial was great and the message wonderful! A month ago I booked a 3.5 hour treatment which was SUPOSE to include a mini facial and scalp massage which never happened... then I was hurried out after only 2 hours 45 minutes! I came to relax and ended up disapointed. more

Where everybody knows your name 1/29/2006

I love Pelage! I've been a loyal customer for years because its so warm, friendly, convenient, and the staff is awesome. I've had laser hair removal, massage, facials, manis and pedis-pretty much everything and they really know what they're doing. Whether you want relaxation or anti-aging treatments or laser, you'll get what you're looking for! Pros: great massage, good prices-laser, knowledgable staff more

Two very different experiences 12/7/2005

I had two drastically different experiences at Pelage. I cannot rave enough about their laser hair removal. I'm having fantastic results and all my questions were answered caringly and discreetly. I later came back to Pelage for a massage. I asked for a recommendation on a tech who would be good with the neck/upper back. I suffer from migraines and know Pelage isn't advertising theraputic massage, but I at least expected a deep massage - especially since the tech asked me my preference. Instead, I got a very "fluffy" treatment and left disappointed. The salon doesn't knock me off my feet as far as being upscale, but it's clean, nicely decorated, and comfortable. Prices are average. Not extremely pricely, but not cheap either. I did appreciate the laser hair removal deal of buy one area get the 2nd at a discount. I appreciate the wide range of hours of operation. Pros: Laser hair removal, Hours of operation, Variety of services Cons: Massage not the best, Rooms are a bit small, Prices are so-so more

5 Stars 3/16/2005

My experience with Pelage Skin Centre was a very positive one. The entire staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They answered all my questions and addressed my concerns very professionally. They were also very helpful in scheduling appointments around my very busy schedule. They are flexible and efficient, and I am very pleased with my results. They have a customer for life! more

Amazing Energy 3/16/2005

This place rocks! Or...should I say "soothes!" The energy exuded at Pelage is both fascinating and gratifying - you'll feel it, too. That's why it's so popular. Located in the heart of Issaquah, Pelage offers great spa services, including some of the best massage technicians you'll find anywhere in Seattle or on the Eastside. They also have an oxygen bar! Great place to unwind, rejuvenate. Pros: Staff, Services, Energy more

Best Experience I've ever had 3/9/2005

I've been to many spas thoughout the years. I truly was amazed at Pelage as soon as I walked thru the door. The atmosphere, and especially the staff and incredible knoweledge of skin care was astonishing. I felt like a pampered queen when I left. Not to mention the restoration of self confidence I feel. I will definantly be back. My skin has never been better! Pros: relaxing, educational, result orinented more

Impressed 4/7/2004

I consider myself a "spa goer" and today was my first goer-experience at Pelage Spa and Skin Center. I was very impressed with the staff, the therapists, and my overall experience. My money was well spent and I will be back to help this spa grow! more

Love it 1/11/2004

I made an appointment here by "accident" a few months ago and I'm so glad I did. The massage was the best I've had and for a better price than most places I have been to. I will continue to happily give them my money!! Pros: great staff Cons: noisy massage rooms more

wonderful massage 4/11/2003

Wonderful massage-my back was really tight and now it feels awesome! Warm, friendly atmosphere-excellent service. Pros: great massage, convenient location, knowledgable more
