Good: I like taking my daughter to the dinner, not many Ft Irwin people know about it so its like a little spot just she and I goto (shes 8), Last time we went I had the fried chicken, the portions were very large for the money, however the meal was very "bland", this time i had the meatloaf and it to was not only bland but it was over cooked which made it tough and for $11.00 that wasnt good cooking! basically it is cool for kids, the wait staff was courteous but very tired,. Bad: we had to set ourselves which is no problem but they need more cleanup staff because while they were not crowed many tables were unclean, the waitress even started to just put down the placemats and silverware for us at a dirty table.the floors needed vacuumed badly, and the john was in the same state it was last time we went so that area needs more attention.. Improvements: air conditioning! so many people very stuffy, a cleaner dinning environment, happy rested staff, a cleaner fish pond or none at all (it just looked a hot mess!) AND please find new ways to enhance, and evolve your cooking, menus, and selections ie season your food, have more healthful current choices for large people and children.. Other: I like going to Peggy Sues but I want to LOVE it! Help me out!. more

peggy sue's diner does not like the railroad people 9/26/2007

the diner is run by eccentric, old people that try to act like their in some kind of desert "click". they are argumentative, smelly and have huge attitudes. after i had an incident and tried to resolve it through the manager, sue, i was told that i was the only person that they have ever had problems with, that she would have to ask the waitress "what really happened", and that they had always had problems with "you railroad people". it seems that they prefer to have guests that only stop in once a year on the way to vegas or elsewhere, eat, then leave a huge tip. where they won't have to worry about seeing a regular customer who might talk to them. the manager, sue, took the tip that i had left out of the tip jar and tossed it at me and told me not to ever come back again, then asked if i wanted to stay and eat my pizza. she said that she preferred if guests were quiet, didn't laugh too loud, didn't touch anything- just quietly wait at their table for the food to arrive- eat, then LEAVE. someone there even went to the trouble to call my employer because they get ammunition while you are there about where you work and said to my supervisor that i wasn't allowed on their property again, that i was loud, obnoxious, and that they had "tapes" of everything- as if i had committed murder- but they weren't concerned enough to call me by telephone when i notified an attorney. they have a "D" rating with the better business bureau which is next to the worst rating that you can get. lastly their pond is green, their beer is hot, the food is way overpriced, floor is always filthy, the waitresses chew and pop gum and seldom shower. i know of someone who was thrown out for laughing too loud. i have no proof but i have heard that their are rat pellets behind the tables in some of the dark corners. i wouldn't eat their if i was starving to death! . more

Blast from the Past 8/20/2005

If you go to Calico Ghost Town, you must have lunch at Peggy Sue's Diner. The food is typical diner food accompanied by Fifties names (Big Bopper shake, etc.). The place is full of Hollywood memorabilia and photos of the husband and wife team who opened the joint. Great milkshakes and pie! more
