I love Peet's Coffee. I don't drink caffeine any more but I won't buy it at the more popular coffee shop. Pete's doesn't have that nasty burned bean taste. It's still a little strong for me but it's drinkable. Their decaf tea selection and the baristas are excellent and knowledgeable about their products. It's a nice relaxing place to sit before going to the Edgemar across the courtyard. And if I want to work, the internet access is free and easy to use. more

Wow. I'll admit, I have shyed away from here just because it kind of looked a little corporate coffee-ee. Well, whatever it is, they serve up good coffee and awesome customer service. I'll warn you, not a lot of electical outlets here- when I asked about plugging in my laptop, the staff here went on a mission. When they were all taken, they offered an extension cord from the back bar. They said we could move tables. There happened to be an empty table near said back bar, but when the extension cord and my laptop didn't work, the staff climbed under the counter to see if they could make the cord stretch. It did. Viola. more

Coffee Fuel... 5/10/2006

Peet's is by far the strongest coffee I've ever had. No foo-foo drinks here. Everytime I have a drink I feel buzzed the rest of the day. I don't get this with the other coffee chains. Personally, I prefer my coffee to be on the sweeter side but they're vanilla latte is really good. Also, when substituting soy for milk, the drink tastes really good which I can't say for the competition. They also have a selection of vegan cookies which are delicious. They have the best ambience because they play classical music that easily falls into the background for studying and reading. Overall, the atmosphere feels really relaxed and this I like. Pros: Snacks, Atmoshpere, Soy substitutes Cons: Overpowering coffee more

Original Premium Chain 7/6/2005

Although not many people seem to know this, Peet's was the original high end chain coffee shop. Starbucks broke off from Peet's, moved to Seattle and started the "evil empire." Peet's still makes better quality coffee although you pay for performance. PROS: Great coffee CONS: expensive more

I love Peet's. I first experienced them in San Francisco & was thrilled when they began their migration south. Their teas are my favorite of any of the hot beverage conglomerates & they have a less "chain-like" feel. The staff has always been polite, knowledgeable & friendly. I definitely recommend Peet's! more

was a true starbucks fan, but then tried pete's and it's not even in the same league. pete's is way more flavorful(almost chocolatey) and rich in flavor...so sorry strbucks, it's all about pete's now! more

Most people have been drinking bad coffee for so long, including getting the h___ burned out of 'em with Starbuckles, they are shocked to discover what real coffee taste like. Peet's gets my vote - it's not for the trendy or cheap, but for those who demand consistent quality. Pros: Consistent, Pro Staff Cons: Wait, Parking more

No cup of coffee is better than Peet's. When I had my first cup, in Berkeley, several years ago, I lamented that LA had no Peet's coffee houses. Now we have several, including one the San Fernando Valley (Studio City). I love full-bodied coffee, and appreciate them all. But Peet's, in my book, beats them all. Hail to Peet's. more

Only one place for a cup of Joe! 7/6/2002

Hands down, the best. Especially on Santa Monica's Main Street. They have the best roasts, a great courtyard patio with waterfall designed by Frank Gehry, and they're dog friendly too. more
