Mrs. 4/10/2013

I love The Pediatric Center of Round Rock! The wellness exams at this office are very thorough. I have a eight year old with a chronic condition (asthma and allergies) and an infant. I love that doctors and practitioners spend so much time explaining things and educating me and my child. My children enjoy visiting the office and the staff are very friendly. I have always been able to have my kids seen the same day when they are sick. The office is SPOTLESS. Dr.Katalena was wonderful when she visited our son in the hospital after his birth. There is nothing to complain about! more

BEST PRACTICE PERIOD! 4/27/2011

Great service, professional staff, excellent nurses, and excellent doctor! Dr. Katalenas is the best. Highly recommend taking your children to her practice. Lorie and Amanda are the best nurses on staff and take care of our daughter quite well. We always have a great visit and the staff always goes the extra mile to make sure we have all the information we need. Weekend hours are a plus as babies often get sick over the weekend. more

Best Dr in Town 3/31/2011

Wow!! I have had nothing but good experiences with Pediatric Center of Round Rock. I have been with Dr. Katelenas since my oldest son was born in 2004. And since then have had two more boys. With having this many boys you can only imagine how often I have had to go to the office. If one gets sick, more than likely the others will too. They are even open on Saturday and Sunday. How often has your child become sick on friday night? Then you have to go through the weekend before you can get an appointment or go to the er or urgent care clinic. This won't happen at Peciatric Center of Round Rock. Awesome drs. and awesome service. Very accomodating. more

Dr. Katalenas is the BEST!!!! 3/3/2011

We have been seeing Dr. Katalenas since 1998 (yep that is right). Long before she moved into her beautiful new facility. My youngest child was only 2 then, she is now 15. Dr. Katalenas does awesome with teenagers and the fact that my kids have known her for so long has really been a great help. They trust her and know that they can talk to her about anything. Teenagers sometimes talk about things that cause me to cringe. I have to say regardless of what we are dealing with Dr. Katalenas NEVER under reacts or over reacts to anything. It makes the kids feel comfortable and normal in their ever changing bodies. Three of my kids are girls (1 boy) so you can imagine the conversations she has had with them. All issues big and small get the same attention. Dr. Katalenas has always made the best decisions for my children even when getting referrals to specialists became a challenge. She never gave up on us and would do what was needed to get the help necessary for treatment. I do not know what we would have done without her all of these years. We have dealt with major issues as well and minor issues. She was always right too. She could see through the teenage drama and determine what was really going on. We are forever grateful to her. If your children are babies, toddlers or adolescents know that they will get the most quality care at PCRR. more

Great Office 11/16/2010

I have been happy to take my three children to Pediatric Center of Round Rock. This office has been our pediatrician of choice for approximately three years now. Over the last six years (the age of my oldest daughter), our health insurance has changed frequently and therefore we used to switch pediatricians frequently. I have never had to worry about changing pediatricians after becoming patients at PCRR because they accept a wide range of health insurances. Even when we had a lapse in insurance coverage, the office staff was willing to work with us on payments so that my child(ren) could still be seen and cared for. When I call to schedule an appointment, the staff does everything they can to get me in when I am asking to be seen. If I need to bring my child in the same day for an illness or injury, there is always an available appointment with either a doctor or a nurse practitioner. On a few occasions, we have not been able to get a same day appointment with Dr. Katalenas (the main pediatrician and owner), but that is understandable because everyone wants to see her. Dr. Katalenas is a very caring, polite, respectful, trustworthy, and knowledgeable pediatrician. She has been great with my children and also with my husband and I as parents. There have been many occasions that my obsessive mommy emotions have taken over, and Dr. Katalenas (and the other providers in the office) have always taken the extra time to address my (sometimes unnecessary) concerns. I have heard some complaints about having to pay copays prior to seeing the doctor, but I can honestly say that most other offices collect copays at the beginning of the appointment as well. Honestly, I prefer to pay up front, because we all know that when you have a screaming toddler in your arms after getting shots, it is easier to just leave the building after the appointment than to think about writing a check. The office environment has always been calm, and inviting. The office staff, and medical assistants, as well as the providers are all great with kids! There have been several times that my children have trustingly wandered off with staff to visit while I attend to another child or use the restroom. The office manager has always been respectful and prompt when I have a question regarding their practices or procedures. The location is convenient and easy to find, and the weekend walk-in sick hours are also helpful. Overall, I have to say, of the many pediatricians I have been to in Round Rock and Austin (probably at least 10), my children have never received better care, and that is what matters most! more

So happy to have found a great Pediatrician 9/4/2008

We moved to Round Rock with a newborn in March of 2007. I was so nervous about finding an excellent Pediatrician for our first baby. Gabriel Millar's practice has been outstanding. Our son has been going to them since he was a month old. He's now 18 months and I will continue to take him there until we leave the area. They are always so thorough, accomodating, and friendly. They truly care and it shows. Most of the staff, who have been there awhile, know my toddler by name. Nurse Practitioner Scott is the GREATEST! You can really count on Dr. Millar's office during those off hours when you really need help and they are closed. They are quick to call you back with an assessment and recommendation. They've put this new mother at ease at so many crazy hours of the day--without making me feel like a dumb paranoid mommy:) Pros: pretty accomodating when it comes to getting an appointment more

Wonderful Doctor! 7/28/2008

I have had only positive experiences with Dr. Millar and his staff. The wait time is always very short, if one of my kids is sick they always get us in that very day, the staff is so friendly, and Dr. Millar is caring, gentle, has a great bedside manner, knowledgeable, and always listens to my concerns. My kids love him too! I was shocked to read a negative comment earlier, and I am wondering if that person was reviewing the wrong doctor. I don't agree with one thing she said. more

best doctor 4/29/2008

Dr. Millar and his staff have always been so wonderful...I have two boys who both go to Dr. Millar - he is so good with both of them. We actually had an interview with him to decide if we wanted him for a pediatrician when our older son's doctor decided when I was 8 months pregnant to no longer accept newborns....well we didn't make the interview because we were actually in the hospital a few days before unexpectedly.....he arrived at the hospital that early morning to check out our son who was born early and only 5 lbs. - From the first moment we met him - we knew he was the one......He was and has continued to be a very sincere and wonderful doctor. He always listens to any questions that I have and has always talked to my oldest son who is 9 years old down on his level. I recommend him to everyone that asks. Pros: great office, no wait, always get sick children in for appt at last minute, wonderful person and staff more

LOVE HIM! 3/5/2008

Dr. Millar is a fantastic pediatrician. My daughter has been seeing him since she was 8 months old and she is now 5 and he is wonderful with her. I have not had any negative experiences with him or his staff and have found them to be very responsive to any issues that she is having. I have never waited longer than 10-15 minutes to see him or a nurse practitioner. I have always been asked by the staff if I would be ok with a nurse practitioner appointment when an appointment was made with the nurse practitioner. I highly recommend this practice. I have friends who also use Dr. Millar and they have only had positive things to say. more

One good person out of the whole bunch 11/25/2007

I started using Gabriel Millar's office when my son was first born. They were okay the first couple times, but got progressively worse over the past seven months. My waiting time got longer and longer; the most recent was an hour and a half before I even got to see the NP, even though I had the first appointment after lunch and arrived 10 minutes early. (By the way, the ONLY time I actually saw the doctor was in the hospital after giving birth. It was always a nurse practitioner after that.) They have one nurse practitioner that I liked, but the other one and the entire staff are completely useless. They take forever to do anything, and focus a lot more on the insurance/money than any doctor I've ever met. They apparently dont understand that people's insurance generally doesnt change every week!! Pros: The one NP was nice and seemed pretty smart Cons: The waiting time, they dont care, they're incompetent, the dr is absent and the other NP doesnt understand english/common sense more

BEST EXPERIENCE 9/24/2007

My daughter has been seeing Dr. Millar for 6 years or so now. (she is 7) I cannot say enough positive things about him and the office as a whole. There is not one thing I could even think of as a concern and I am HANDS DOWN the world's most protective and picky mother! Dr. Millar takes the time to listen and answer questions etc without ever making you feel rushed out of the office. He has even gone so far as to paint my daughter's finger nails before she leaves. They even send my daughter on her way with a 'prize' after each visit - a game, hair accessories, you name it. I have even run into Dr. Millar at the store and he always remembers my daughter's name even! I have needed to call after hours several times and I have received a call from him within minutes. He is completely on top of things and has the most positive office staff as well. I really couldn't be more pleased and have sent all of my friends with children to him. They are all happy as well! I noticed another review for his office that was quite 'ugly' and in my point of view completely inaccurate! Shockingly inaccurate - must be in error. Dr. Millar is FANTASTIC and I wouldn't take my daugher anywhere else. Loooove him! Pros: Very clean office - professional - gentle - patient - understanding - calm demeanor - timely. Cons: Not one to speak of! more

so far so good 7/24/2007

I am a first time mom and I called many places to find a good doc, location and insurance match. I must say, my first two call experiences with Dr. Millar's office are very good! There is no typical phone menu; the staffs are very friendly, sharp on answering and asking questions. Even thought we haven?t met the doctor yet, I have a good feeling he might be my baby?s doc. more
