Assistants repeatedly tell children to shut up and put their hands over their mouths. I have witnessed them standing over children with their faces a few inches from the child's face telling them they better shut up right now. Using foul language and telling them that this is the reason they are there because they are cry babies (when referred by another dentist because they are apprehensive). If your child is scared to go to the dentist, do not send them here. The experience with Dr. Hobbs and his assistants will make it worse. I encourage other dentists to think twice before sending any of your patients here. I hear Cool Smiles is good with children. I was fortunate to have a wonderful dentist and my children were never apprehensive about going to the dentist. more

Poor Service, Unprofessional 7/30/2014

This is the second time I've taken my daughters to Dr. Hobbs. My children have their teeth cleaned by another dentist. She normally doesn't do fillings on children. So she referred us to Dr. Hobbs. I called and made an appointment to get both of my daughters cavities filled. I scanned the referral papers outlining the areas that needed filling from our normal dentist and sent them to Dr. Hobbs office. The receptionist confirmed their receipt. The day of their appointment, instead of asking their normal dentist for the x-rays taken at their cleaning a few weeks prior Dr. Hobbs takes all new x-rays ($186). This isn't the total cause of my dissatisfaction. Dr. Hobbs then tells my husband he doesn't have time to fill their teeth and he'll have to make another appointment. What?! I specifically called and made an appointment to get their teeth repaired. Not x-rayed for a second time. My husband took 4 hours off work to take them to this appointment. Totally unprofessional. I may as well have taken over $200 out of my purse and lit it on fire. We will never take our children there again. I will be informing my normal dentist and suggest she not send any more referrals his way. more

Excellent Pediatrics practice 8/19/2005

I've been using this practice since my oldest daughter was born 8 years ago. I chose it on the recommendation of my teaching colleagues, and I've been pleased. It's easy to make appointments, and you can be seen the same day if needed. There are nurses who can take your call if you have a question. Dr. Cohen, who we see, is very gentle and thorough. I'd recommend this practice to anyone looking for a good pediatrician. more

An excellent pediatric practice 6/18/2005

When I had my first daughter 8 years ago, I didn't know where to go to find a pediatrician. Some of my teacher friends recommended Dr. Cohen at Pediatric Associates, and I'm glad they did. We've been with him ever since. He has a gentle, calm, reassuring manner and has always examined my kids thoroughly and diagnosed things accurately. He was voted a "top doc" in pediatrics by his peers, and I would second that designation. He's a wonderful pediatrician and I whole-heartedly recommend him. more

Rather than be reactive, we prefer to be proactive and stop dental problems before they start. Education is the best way to do that!
