Worst Experience, Service too Slow, Food Tastes Like Cleaning Fluid 3/12/2009

My husband and I recently went to the Cock and Bull Restaurant. The food use to be really good. This time the service was very bad. We waited 45 minutes until our soup came out. The waiter said something about the veal we ordered being a problem with. Our side dish came out one half hour before the main meal which was cold when they finally brought our veal out. I bit into it and it smelled of cleaning fluid and had a very bad taste. I thought we were coming out to an upscale restaurant. We don't live around the corner. We were disappointed. At that point we left. We didn't even get an apology from the manager. Also the restaurant was not crowded. I caution you to stay away. We also got sick that night from the food we did eat there. more

All the restaurants in Peddlers Village give so many options. You can go from casual Cock and Bull to very formal, trendy Earls. I have not had a bad meal in any of the restaurants. Even some on the Penns Purchase side are worth checking out especially The Porterhouse... great steak. Mangia! more

Great Food 1/13/2009

Peddler's Village may be mostly known for their shopping but at the end of the day when the shops start to close there are a bunch of great restaurants to satisfy your hunger after a long day. I would have to say my favorite is the Hart Tavern. It has a good menu and good prices. The atmosphere is great and reminds me of an old pub. Just being in there always makes me feel at home. Though the tavern is my favorite I have never had a bad experience at any of the restaurants and would recommend sticking around for dinner when you're done shopping. more

the one I've eaten in is the Cock & Bull. Traditional English food - the good stuff - and everything was delicious. The atmosphere is old worl english with many gorgeous artworks and wall hangings. The waitstaff was prompt and courteous, and th eprices about what]you should expect in an up-scale shopping area. more
