Never having been on an electric bike, and being locals who love the beach, we took a chance, two fifty-something and a 62 year old rider who was somewhat "rusty" on pedaling. Decided on the 9 a.m. ride because it was Labor Day weekend and we wanted to 1. avoid being overwhelmed by crowds and 2. not be in too much of the heat of the day. It was worth every cent we paid, because there was no way we ever would have been able to cover the amount of mileage of beach we got to see, from Marion Davies old "guest house" of 7000 sq. feet,!! past the S. Monica pier, Muscle Beach, both old and new, to the Venice canals, It would have wiped us out had we needed to pedal. It was great to cruise past the sweaty joggers and cyclists and there was a perfect rest stop and lots of historical info (new to us local gals) provided by Lance, our tour guide. We are definitely adding this excursion for our out-of-town-visitors. Whether you are young or old, good or mediocre cyclist, or a has-been rider, this will be one 3 hour tour you will not regret climbing aboard.
