My grandmother is temporarily residing here while she recovers from hip surgery. I can't tell you enough how great this place is!! I have done a lot of research/touring on these kind of facilities and this is the best I have found!
Initially my grandma was in another facility in Portland that Portland Adventist recommended from a list of facilities they give you. Several (unfortunate) things happened there, it was more money and the food was absolutely uneatable. I did my own research and found The Pearl. From the first phone call everything has exceeded our expectations! The facility itself is beautiful, not hospital like at all, the staff are all so professional and wonderful, & the food is fantastic!!
There is such piece of mind in knowing that your loved one is being taken care of and that when you can't be there all the time, your not stricken with guilt or the ""what if""'s. At the Pearl you do not have to babysit the babysitters, you leave there with such a sense of security.
It's important to take the time and educate yourself and not just rely on ""the list"" a hospital might give you. Pay attention to the smell, the temperature, the cleanliness, the food, the faces, etc. It will save you a lot of heart ache in the end. It seems to me there is a world of difference between an Avamere facility and a Marquis facility...do your research.
Happy Hunting!!
Pros: Staff, Service, Food, Ambiance
Cons: can't get the hairdresser to call me back :(
