This is one of the best places ever to eat!!! Pizza, burgers are great and if you want homemade soup and subs they are to die for. They have the best House salad dressing and their croutons and salads are out of this world. If you like the sub stop in Macon try the "Pear Tree" in Bevier, MO. The best Steak dinner you will ever eat. Don't forget to ask for the homemade onion rings! more

The BEST. The Best little pizza...A half is actually a small pie...half serves a hungry person without over-stuffing. If you want a little more? Grab a large or small salad, or a little tray of bite-sized meatballs and drag the outer crust through the sauce as you close your eyes and just smile all over...SOooo good! the BEST Bleu Cheese Salad Dressing and TDF Croutons!!! (Nothing lo-cal about them, but then, who goes for pizza, meatballs and cake looking for lo-cal, ANYWAY!!!???!!!) Yummy Italian Cream Cake...not as I know it from back home in Northern California but it's really good! A cream cheese coconut pecan concoction that makes fast friends with your coffee. Homemade ice cream, five or six other cake selections seem to be an every-day affair. FRIENDLY, consistent service... Lunches and dinners are hectic but the wait isn't unbearable. It's perfectly reasonable to expect this place to pack 'em in! The food is really satisfying, fresh and basic. I haven't tried the sandwiches, nor the burgers but I've SMELLED them and SEEN then passing by to JOYFUL customers. The little trays of homemade meatballs are yummy and bite sized...No, it's NOT yours or your mama's homemade, but the next best thing to not doing it yourself! Alot faster and EXCELLENT selection of toppings, uber-reasonable $. It's wear I choose to go when I want GOOD but don't wanna cook. Check it out and you'll swear off Pizza Hut and cough cough AHEM DOMINO'S...lol. Summarily speaking, this was the first time I'd eaten and enjoyed a pie since I moved out here back in '01. Well. Painstaking efforts at fitting my 1st EVER RAVE review into the box were 4 naught. All that's up is the "detailed comments" portion...I responded to the questions posted when I clicked to add "more." Sigh. Wish I'd copied before posting. THAT SAID, Ignore the retarded "Good, Bad, etc." as it's NOT what it looks like! And go grab a pizza, a little salad, try the Bleu Cheese Dressing; get the croutons. Good: The whole shebang. Cozy, just light enough for that little "pizzeria" feel. I know, I used to have one! This is the little place you wanna go when you wanna go to that "little place" for a good pizza.. Bad: Nothing.. Improvements: One in Kirksville? :+) No corner pieces of Italian Cream Cake~which I think is really Italian Cream Cheese Cake. The I.C.Cakes I'm used to are layers with whipped cream/almonds/rum custard/cherries.. more

When our family lived in northern Missouri, I came to Macon a lot. I had my daughter in Samaritan hospital, which happens to be practically across the street from this little sub shop. They have wonderful food. Their specials are great, and the shop itself is really nice. The staff was always very friendly, and very busy helping all of the customers that frequent this restaurant. more
