Seattle has amazing ice cream, gelato and frozen yogurt but until recently it didn't have frozen custard. Peaks owner Timothy Wolfe has developed midwestern-style frozen custard with a Seattle foodie flair. His vanilla and chocolate standards are handmade using local cream and a blend of exotic vanillas and high quality chocolate. In addition to these, each day brings a new creative ""flavor of the day."" The day I visited it was mint chocolate, but you can use the flavor calendar on their website to plan your visits a month at a time. Peaks treats follow a mountaineering theme, with sundaes named after regional, well, peaks. The space is more coffee shop than ice cream parlor, with reclaimed tables and chairs and a cozy fireplace. For custard fans, Peaks is mecca. Never had frozen custard? I dare you to try it only once.
Pros: Amazing custard, rotating daily flavors, comfy seating
Cons: You can't eat it three meals a day
