I lived in New Hampshire for several years and sometimes really miss the peacefulness of being up there. Over the summer, I took a trip back to the eastern part of the state to do some hiking and discovered a wonderful spot just over the boarder in Maine. Peace-with-Inn really is just that. This bed & breakfast is so beautiful and homey. It was originally a farm from the 1880's and a lot of the structure is still intact. The decorations are mostly antique and just comfortable and relaxing! Every bedroom had a different theme. Ours was "The Valley" and was done in a pretty blue scheme. The beds are AMAZINGLY comfortable, like falling into a pile of feathers. There's a game/TV area, an adorable "book nook", a sun room and even an on call massage therapist. There are so many amenities in each room I could write another review just on all of that! And the soaps/creams/shampoos in the bathrooms are first rate.
And the breakfast....so good! I have an egg allergy and I just told them that in advance and they prepared breakfast accordingly. I had the freshed Maine blueberry muffins and a sort of waffle-like tarte with local maple syrup. Everything was homemade and fresh. There was juice, coffee, tea, really anything you could want if you just asked! Even complimentary wine or beer in the afternoons and soda/water around all the time. The innkeepers are so friendly and welcoming. This is truly a refreshing, peaceful place that will make you not want to leave. Look up their website for more details and to make a reservation.
