breads, muffins and best scones in the city 10/19/2006

The sandwiches are out of the ordinary with top notch Italian products used.\r \r Generous with ingredients (nuts, berries, chocolate) in whatever bakery delight you choose.\r \r Scones are to die for.\r \r Fresh, fresh, fresh! Pros: fresh ingredients, some unusual types of breads and pastries, take out a picnic lunch Cons: not too many tables to sit at more

Fresh food that goes beyond ordinary pastas. wonderful atmosphere for meeting friends 10/19/2006

Whenever I visit Portland I plan on having some wonderful meals at Pazzo. The food is all fresh and decidedly tasty. I love the pumpkin ravioli as well as some of the other original dishes the chef has offered. The location and atmosphere make the restaurant a star attraction for me. Professional but friendly waitstaff. Pros: ambience, fresh food made to order, good service Cons: parking across street in bank building is the best we could find more

NOT GOOD 10/15/2006

THE SERVICE IS SUB-PAR. THE FOOD IS BELOW NOT BEING RECOMMENDED. FIVE BITES OF PASTA, WITH FOUR SHRIMP, TINY CLAMS, AND A CAN OF TOMATOS THROWN ON TOP FOR $20!!! GIVE ME A BREAK. NOT TO MENTION THE NOISE...IT'S AS LOUD AS A HIGH SCHOOL CAFETERIA IS ON FREE TACO DAY. I WILL NEVER GO BACK, NOR WILL I RECOMMEND IT (EXCEPT TO MY WORST ENEMY). OH, AND MY FRIEND HAD THE SPAGHETTI...IF THAT'S WHAT YOU WANT TO CALL IT. MY HIGH SCHOOL CAFETERIA ACTUALLY AD BETTER SPAGHETTI FOR 3 DOLLARS. PEACE. OUT. more

Fine dining 6/12/2006

The food is really good here, especially given that Portland has always been weak on Italian food. The service is friendly and the room has a clubby atmosphere - neither very intimate nor\r unfriendly. Recommend getting an appetizer, a first and a second and a dessert - it's all good.\r Prices are high but not outrageous. Pros: Food, service, room Cons: Parking more

Great atmosphere, good cocktails, and good food! 6/11/2006

My wife and I go here every couple of weeks and we always enjoy ourselves. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere makes you feel very comfortable. Tye Pazzo Platter is a nice variety of antipasto including a delicious duck liver pate, pickled beets, tasty charcuterie, and olives. Their pizzas are pretty good, too. If you're lucky, you'll come in on a night that Geoffrey is tending the bar. He's very knowledgeable about cocktails, wine and the beers that are on tap. The staff is very friendly and make you feel at home.\r Very nice and very professional. Pros: Good food, great cocktails, friendly staff Cons: Parking more

Love it! 5/29/2006

This is the second time I have driven from the suburbs to Pazzos downtown for lunch. It is well worth the trip. Food and service are excellent. The whole experience makes it seem special. Highly recommend Pazzos! Pros: service, food, professional more

charming, delightful experience 4/9/2006

The food is delightful, fresh ingrediants with the perfect blend of flavors. The atmosphere is welcoming, not too loud. The decor is soothing. Sometime I dine alone and unfortunatly am treated poorly at some resturants. However, I was treated so well here. The Hostess and the waitress went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and at home. I was able to fully relax and enjoy my delicious meal. The wine was excellent! Sagelands Columbia Valley 2002. I will be back, with my husband and friends! Pros: great food, wonderful atmosphere, sincere&friendly crew more

A Place To Feel At Home 12/22/2005

The staff, service and selection at Pazzo is fabulous. The bar staff is exceptionally well tempered and a pleasure to be around. Geoff can give you sports trivia and warm chatter & Will can pour a stiff drink and supply a wink a time or too. Melissa, aka:Mojo, has southern hospitality and a luminous presence. For comic relief and neighborly kindness, Mike can serve up quick banter and recommend some tasty brews. The staff is keen on finding you the perfect drink for your evening and suggesting the complimentary food item to well round your dining experience. Angela, one of the Managers, is a gracious host and takes great pride in your dining experience. Some of the best italian food and good spirits reside in the ever so friendly Bar at Pazzo. Try it out, and you'll find some great friends. Pros: Staff, Drinks, Food Cons: None! more

We dine all over the world and two of the best meals that we have ever enjoyed have been at Pazzo. The food is wonderful, the variety delightful and I agree with the previous review that the service is warm and attentive. We have had the same server twice. She has been there since they opened. We felt as though we were being hosted at the home of a very dear friend. She was knowledgeable, attentive and truly cared about our experience. We look forward to returning to Pazzo on our next visit. If you go, be sure and try the pumpkin filled ravioli with browned butter, sage and hazelnuts! Pros: great food, fresh ingredients, Great Service more

One of the best experiences as a business traveler is to find a restaurant that you want to return to again and again. I found such a place at Pazzo. The food is wonderful with a seasonal Italian Menu that uses the freshest ingredients. I have particularly enjoyed the Calamari, the Gnocchi are the best on the planet, their FRESH FISH, and the free range beef. With all of their fresh sauces and desserts made in house, there is an item for everyone. I often find myself entertaining clients there. But the best feature is the Service. The staff is warm and attentive without being intrusive. I personally request Vicki. Her knowledge of Wine and Food and her gracious service is exceptional. If you can only visit one restaurant in Portland, need to impress the boss or just need a ""home away from home"" this is the restaurant to frequent. Pros: ATTENTIVE SERVICE!, GRACIOUS SERVICE!!, GREAT ITALIAN FOOD more

Extraordinary Service 7/31/2004

As a young diner (who also happens to be a restaurant manager), I frequently find the staff at higher-end restaurants to come across as demeaning. Not so at Pazzo Ristorante, where my wife and I celebrated out first anniversary. Our server, Alex, was extremely good. His attention to detail was impressive, but his real strength was his ability to instantly adapt to the table. He allowed me to effortlessly guide or over two hour meal through its many courses to a satisfying conclusion. Every bit of the dinner was delivered with a genuine smile and positive comment or story related to it. We went through antipasti, first and second courses, and dessert. Every dish was superb, with excellent presentation and tastes that did not upset my rather sensitive stomach. On the whole, it was a supremely enjoyable dinner, and we would recommend Pazzo to any fine-dining aficianado. Ciao! Pros: Menu choices, Service, Ambience more
