Payless Shoe Source

I love Payless shoes. I get my kids their shoes here and mine as well. I've found some really great deals over the years. They've gotten a lot better in quality. I found a great pair of fisherman sandals just like the $90 ones they sell at Nordstrom. I found out that all the designers for those fancy shoe labels (Keen, Nine West, etc) design for Payless as well. Go figure! Exact same stuff, only in manmade materials, not leather. They should get Alicia SIlverstone to be their spokesperson. But I digress... This location is right on 6th and Pearl, bordering Highway 16. I like how large it is, in case my kids like to run around - I don't feel like we're bothering anyone. LARGE store, even though the selection at this location is a lot lower in inventory than the Tacoma Mall location. more

I was surprised at the long-lasting durability of the shoes I bought from Payless Shoesource. They really last. The selection, however, varies. The time before last when I was there I was able to find several pairs I liked, but the last time I was there I could find nothing. This probably has more to do with the trends of popular styles or whatever styles the manufacturers wish to force to become popular, rather than the store itself. The clerks are friendly, and call out to you when you enter. They're willing to spend some time with you and help you find something, as well. more
