Top notch for major medical problems! 1/4/2010

A little over a year ago, I came home from a weekend away and discovered that my cat had eaten some thread - but I didn't know how much - but he was very sick. I took him to one vet in town who insisted that my cat had asthma (even after I explained that I found the thread pulled off my sewing machine and I was sure he'd eaten some of it). I decided to seek a 2nd opinion, and took him to Paw Prints. The staff and doctor LISTENED to me (which was nice!), did some tests and exploratory work, were very upfront with our options and pricing for each option, as well as potential negative outcomes. We decided to spend the money for surgery to save our kitty, after everything was explained to us very thoroughly. I'm happy to say that the staff at Paw Prints saved our kitty, after pulling YARDS of thread out of his intestines and stomach. They were very nice to me in my panicked state, very caring. They also provided great aftercare, especially regarding a potential infection in the incision/st more

Not sure. 9/15/2009

Generally speaking, I think they provide professional services, such as disease treatment and surgery. The one thing I am not sure is about their boarding service. I left my dog with them for one day, and she was exhausted when she got home. She drank up three cups of water immediately. They explained it to be that the dog might be stressed out at a new place. I doubt it because I sent my dog to other boarding places before and my dog was fine. I can only say I doubt it because I was not there! more

Two Sides to a Story 4/17/2009

As owner and a staff veterinarian of Paw Prints Animal Hospital, I respect the opinions written by the veterinarian who's sister had her dog's aural hematoma treatment in our hospital and I feel compelled to respond to several untruths within his review of our care for the patient.\r \r 1. The time line stated in the letter is grossly in error, making people believe this patient was over medicated; not true.\r \r 2. I can attest this patient was never, and I repeat, never left unattended while under sedation in the hospital section. Two doctors, a staff of registered veterinary technicians and veterinary assistants watched over this patient's care. Paw Prints Animal Hospital is very proud of the hands on care we give and all of our patient care is well documented.\r \r 3. The patient's dermatitis was not the result of medications used. While in out boarding facility, the dog would upset the food and water dishes allowing the moist dermatitis to start on the side of the face. This was not the more

Supportive and caring staff 11/18/2005

It is never easy to have a sick animal. Last spring our cat became ill and I decided enough was enough when she seemed to constantly run into walls or objects. When I called Paw Prints, they told me to bring her in right away. The doctor told me that she was pretty sure there was a tumor, as the cat's eyes were not responding to light. I asked if there was anything that could be done and while she said that we could try Purdue animal hospital, she wouldn't recommend it because there was only a very slim chance that she could fully recover and she didn't want to mislead me. I really appreciated her honesty since vet bills can get steep. We put her down later that day and the staff was very supportive. They gave us plenty of info, and all of the time that we needed. A week later, we even got a condolence card from them. They cost a little more, but a worth every penny. more
