very disappointed 8/17/2009

At first I was grateful to have found a place that so totally seemed to care and had such nice staff. Then, after signing the agreement and writing the check, I used the public restroom and OMG what a nastly bathroom. I was terribly upset but my hands were tied. When I moved my sister in, they had zero counseling for her. When people would die as they do when they get old and things happen, they had zero counseling. It took me 3 weeks of constant complaining to get them to clean her toilet. My sister split a room the size of a holiday in hotel room for way too much money and ended up crammed into a corner. The cabinetry that was in the room must be 30 years or older including the bathroom. They use chlorine bleach with her one load of laundry that they do for her and so just as I suspected, anything she had that was white is now pink. They spray the hallways with febreeze but it just isn't enough. The people that come off of the 3rd floor where additional care is needed often smell of urine or feces. There are thousands of cigarette butts around the entrance to the building. They have had the pool closed for at least 3 weeks now for repairs. They do absolutely nothing to make their residents feel at home. They don't try to get them involved in anything. And now they have been quarantined for an outbreak that they suspects is from feces in the food. If there were negative stars, that is what I would rate the Pavilion. Cons: Bad smells;dirty bathroom; Chlorine bleach on all clothing; more

Fun at the Dog Show 7/3/2009

My father told me about an ad he read in his Willaimsburg community newsletter about a dog wedding hosted at Pavilion on June 20th. We attended with his dalmatian, Sammy, and I was so surprised at his reaction. At the party he met with some other people and talked with them the whole time. He didn't want to leave. My father has never wanted to see a ""Senior Home"" before. I just got off the phone with him and he asked me to find out more about their events. He doesn't live there, but the staff treated him like he did and were very nice and helpful. One of the nurses helped my dad get back in the car when we left. I am impressed with Pavilion and look forward to their next dog event or other parties. Pros: Fun events Cons: Far from my house, close to my dad's house more

Comforting Experience 6/27/2009

About three months ago I had visited 5 different senior living places in orlando and when I went to Pavilion I was treated with such kindness and they took a lot of extra time with me. I decided to move my mother and she has been there about two months now. I am so pleased with the physical therapy staff that have been able to help her. All staff has been kind and friendly. My mom is even coming down to activities now. Very pleased and would recommend. Pros: Very helpful staff, larger apartment, love activities Cons: Not ideal location more

Horrible Place!! RUN! 6/8/2009

New administrator who could care less and a Director of Nursing who curses everyone out. If you care for your loved one, do NOT go here. Very old unsafe building with State inspectors in frequently, due to complaints of care. Full of crawley critters!! Pros: NOTHING Cons: Poor management! more
