I hired Paula to do my engagement, bridal, and wedding photography and I could not have been happier. Her ability to capture the perfect moment is unsurpassed. Her husband handled the video and she handled the photography and we could not have been happier. Paula never missed nor was late for ANY appointment, if anything she was constantly waiting on me! \r \r The album that Paula put together was fantastic, she truly has a gift and you will not be sorry. Paula did our engagement, bridal, and wedding photography. She is really nice however the following events left me wanting for professionalism. \r Engagement: We arrived at the scheduled meeting place 15 minutes early and waited for 20 minutes then called her. She had forgotten that we were scheduled. We ended up waiting a total of 45 minutes for her to show up in windy Abilene. So my hair was a mess. I will admit the pictures were good but it left a bad taste. I should have known then that it was going to be bad.\r Bridal: My number one advice is take someone with you. She paid little attention to making sure my dress was straight and not getting dirty (she wanted me to sit down on red pine shavings but I refused.) The people that were with me had to stop her numerous times from taking a shot with my dress being blown everywhere.\r Wedding: Luckily she was on time to the wedding. She took very few shots of the bridal party getting ready and no shots of the groom and groomsmen. We had a set time for the groomsmen to start taking pictures and when they said they were ready she was said ""we can start whenever"" and didn't start in time to get many pictures taken. She was not assertive at all. Which is not good in a wedding situation. I didn't get several shots that I wanted ie. groomsmen with bride, bridesmaids with groom, each bridesmaid and groomsmen couples,(only pictures of them walking out and there is no pic of the best man and maid of honor together at all), no ring pictures...the list goes on and on. I went before the wedding to discuss with her what pictures I wanted and felt like she blew me off. After the wedding I scheduled an appointment to pick out pictures for the album and she missed one appointment (forgot again). Then told me that I had to have all the pictures picked out before I came and she would arrange them. \r \r In conclusion I paid A LOT of money for this and did not receive the service I deserved. And some memories were missed Cons: Late/forgets scheduled appts, not creative in any fashion, not a professional person. more

My husband and I really enjoyed getting to work with Paula and Gary. I was on a budget like most brides but wanted all the ""bells and whistles."" I called every photographer in the Abilene area and found some cheaper but they really lacked the quality (and/or personality). When I called Paula, I discovered that I could have everything I wanted and at a reasonable price. She's extremely creative, flexible, and fun to work with. I would definitely recommend calling Paula. You'll be happy you did! Ask her about the boudoir shoot, It's an awesome idea for your first anniversary. I booked Paula Gilmore Photography to take my wedding pictures and was absolutely thrilled with the results. Both she and her husband Gary shot the wedding and they are great to work with. They got pictures of incidents that I didn't even know occurred. Paula even allowed a couple of our family members who are ""wannabe"" photographers follow her around all night. I know she must have gotten a little tired of their pestering, but you would have never known because there was no change in her pleasant demeanor. We enjoyed working with her so much and the album is spectacular. Her ability as a graphic artist is unsurpassed; she put the pictures together in a way I would have never thought of. Paula Gilmore did the photography for my wedding and her husband did the video. I was so pleased with both products. The pictures told a great story of the day..........She made me feel special; every session was fun. I love the way she does ""relationship"" shots; they're romantic and fun - captured memories I'll treasure from now on. I especially love the enhancements. The body sculpting and softening effects are so flattering. We are also thrilled with the video. They incorporated still shots into the movie as well as other special effects, which really personalized it for us. I certainly recommend Paula and her husband for your photography and video. Paula Gilmore ruined my wedding photography. She missed the candle lighters, wedding party entry, ushers, seating of the bride and groom's grandparents and mothers, mother's lighting unity candle, OUR FIRST KISS, wedding party leaving the church, cutting of the groom's cake, our last dance and much, much more. The pictures she did take are dark, blurry, off centered, poorly staged, and heads are cut off. She agreed to come to the rehearsal and never showed. We also ordered video from her. We called her the day of the wedding since she didnt show the night before and she didnt even know we wanted a video. We had been advised that hiring a photographer and videographer who have worked together is smart because they will be able to avoid being in each others frames. The videographer is in so many of our pictures including every pictures of us at the altar and the photographer constantly appears in the video. The first video we received didnt work. The second video worked but has over 20 typos including the wrong wedding date, several misspelled names, punctuation mistakes and major spacing issues during the credits. We were supposed to receive an old-fashioned, sepia tone copy as well and never did. They tried to charge us more than we were quoted saying we ordered an album which I told her twice I didnt want. Their services are a joke. They have given us numerous excuses saying our pictures were originally messed up during development and that they may have accidently given us the rough draft of the video. We have given them several oppurtunities to fix things. They have failed to fix anything. We have not received any of the missing pictures and they want a third shot at fixing the video but I just want my money back. They have very poor communication skills and are very unprofessional. I would never recommend using Paula Gilmore Photography to document one of the most important days of your life.
