I was referred to this school by a friend who had a good experience, however mine was not so good. I walked in to a happy fun enviroment, but my experience quickly changed as I approached an empty front desk. I waited a couple of minutes to only be greated by someone who seemed too busy to be bothered. Without a greeting she slid me a pen and paper across the counter and said to sign here! I then waited 20 minutes for the student to bring me back. Although the student and my service went wonderfull, it seemed to me that the teacher was very busy and overwelmed with everything that was going on at once. The student walked me back up to the front desk and low and behold it was the rude red head again who proceeded to finish a personal conversation on her cell phone only to abruptly ask "" when did u wanna come back in"".... All in all my sevice was wonderfull however I will not return because a good buisness starts with the first person who you have interaction with!!! more

Aweful pedicure experience 6/27/2011

First let me start by saying that I blame the instructors who trained the ladies who did our pedicures. Given them the tools to do the job. Make sure the equipment works. It looks bad for the company. Not all the chairs worked. The hot water did not work in one. The jets didn't work in another. Bubbles were galore at one station and not a drop in another. She put the stuff in water but because the jets didn't work, it was simply cold water because that was also the station that had no hot water. Really? Shame on management. The ladies did not have the proper sterialized tools to trim our nails, cut our cuticles or push back the cuticles. One of the ladies used her own kit. Not sterialized...just her personal kit. The others didn't even have any. They didn't trim our nails back until we mentioned it as they were fixing to paint. They never cut our cuticles nor did they 'clean'' around the toenails. They didn't use the toe seperators when painting. They didn't direct us to a 'dryer' before sending us on our way. I understand these ladies are learning but at this point they should have been trained properly and all they need to do is get the experience. They didn't appear that they had done this many times because each one did something different. There should be steps that they were taught. I understand it was only $10 but one day they will be working in a salon that charges more than $10 and the job they do will not be accepted. Train them so they will be ready to work in a salon. There were a few other things that I didn't like and I am NOT a typical person to complain but I thought that others should know. I didn't like the receptionists. They just seemed to be too busy. Make people feel welcomed, not that you have too much to do and don't have time to help them. All in all, it's a school and I get that. The students must learn but in the same sense they should be conducting themselves like a real salon. One day, they will be in a full service salon and will not be able to break out in a dance because of a certain song coming on. I understand about having a relaxed atmosphere but there is a line. I could go on but I guess I got the main complaints out. more

Professionals in the Making 2/16/2011

I had a fantastic experience at Paul Mitchell the school. My student stylist was so professional, and kind. She not only made me feel comfortable, but beautiful. It's amazing the attention you recieve as a client. Because the education is hands on, you feel like your being fussed over, as the educators and the students are working to make your hair look fantastic. I would suggest this salon to anyone on a budget with a little extra time, and who likes to be made to feel special. I will be going back! more

I love this school 10/7/2010

I recently visited Paul Mitchell The school Orlando and I have to tell you WOW what a great place! The prices are so reasonable the students and staff were friendly and my hair has never looked so good. I have spent a lot of money in the past at high end salons and I recieved the same service and quality form the school at a much lower price. If you have not been to the school I suggest that you try it out You will love it just like I did, I will be back and I will tell all my friends to go too. Thanks for making me look so beautiful. more

I had a blast! 10/6/2010

I read the reviews before going in, but I heard about this place by a friend who loves the school and goes often. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by 10 smiling faces, I received a conditioning treatment called Awapuhi Wild Ginger and it was amazing, I am still playing with my hair. The stylist and her teacher were so fun and friendly. I made another appt. for a pedicure next week! Finally I can pamper myself for under $50.00! more

In Response To ""Please Don't Go Here""-Lake City. 8/18/2010

Dear Lake City, I would like to personally apologize for your experience. I assure you that we as a school provide top notch education, which never allows the usage of a cap. As for the future professionals, we do allow them to express themselves creatively with their tattoos, piercings, and hair colors. Our staff is trained to give the future professionals the systems of Paul Mitchell, which you may not be very familiar with understandably. My biggest concern with this comment you have made is that this is a school, and these are human beings who make discoveries; which we embrace and grow from. Please have a little bit more understanding of those who are learning... We have been here for seven years and have clientele that have been very happy with us. Please call me at 407-677-7695 Ext. 223 and I would love to have you come in to try us out again! more

Please do don't go here! 7/10/2010

PLEASE DON'T GO HERE! I only went here knowing that it was a school because of the great reviews on here. This is your typical trailer trash cosmetology school. All of the students are covered in tattoos and their hair is over colored. If you were to see most of them on the street you would never guess that they do hair. The inside is like a warehouse with out much attempt to make it look professional. At the beginning I knew I should have went to hair cuttery instead. My hair is short and they told me they can't do highlights with foils because it was too short. I said I get it done with a cap. The girl who was suppose to be a leader went and asked if they can do caps yet. She returned and said they can't so I had them do an all over blonde instead. After two attempts and 3 hours later my hair was gold almost orange! They told me I could come back during the week to have it corrected. I told them to never mind and that I would go somewhere and get it done right! My hair looked like crap when I went in and it looked even worse when I left. I paid $40 to have my hair look terrible. I should have just went to hair cuttery since it would have been about the same price and the service would have been guaranteed. The students have a leader to show them step by step what to do. However, I think the leaders are students themselves! I did not see anybody that appeared to be a legitimate teacher or that genuinely seem to know what they were doing. Now I know why it is so hard to find a good hair stylist. The schools don't teach them right. Pros: Nothing Cons: Unprofessional and untrained students. more
