I don't know about where you live, but MTI costs about 3 times more than other school in my area. Shop around first, it will be worth your time. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 8/20/2012

My daughter's ready to graduate as a medial assistant! She's excited and so am I. Thanks, MTI! more

Mti has its pros and cons just like anywhere you go. 2/7/2012

I attended Mti College and I wouldn't say it's the worst college in Sacramento. I will say that the staff makes and break the experience. There were few teachers that I absolutely adored and there are teachers who I wouldn't want to ever see again. I can't stand the financial aid staff they are some of the least helpful and most disrespectful teachers ever. What I learned at Mti was helpful and furthered me in my career choice. I would have to agree with the review that you need to make your opinion about this school. They were very helpful with fitting classes around my schedule. There is a fair number of teachers that will take their time and help or stay after class and will try to help you understand something. There are other teachers that will give you the feeling that he or she would rather be somewhere else. This is college you can't expect someone to hold your hand and tell it's OK you do better on the next test. It's not going to happen. This is a fast-paced school its meant to get you out in sort period of time. So if you have time a little extra time and don't want to fast track your career I would suggest going to a Community college. But if you have a tight schedule and need a fairly quick education to start your career off it couldn't hurt you. My overall experience wasn't horrible, but it wasn't fantastic. I think that you should make your own opinions though. Ones person's opinion shouldn't dictate your entire choice. I hope this will help someone. more

Fast and Thorough Education 3/22/2011

I attend MTI and I am a student in their Business Administration degree program, and I would definitely recommended this college over any other especially after wasting my time at ARC. The classes are small and their placement department found me a job after my first year. The second year classes are offered at night and parking can be a little tight, but it is free. Love this college so far! more

I just got a job 3/21/2011

Thanks MTI - I just got a job in the legal field. They have great teachers and helped me with my resume. Sure I had to look for the opening on the internet but they were looking for me also. My advice work hard while in school, and network for the open positions. more

Waste of Time and Money!! 3/18/2011

I graduated from MTI in 2010 as a Medical Assistant with a 4.0 GPA and Honors.\r \r It was a complete waste of time.\r \r First off, they don't teach everything an MA needs. They do not cover suture removal, wound care, lavage, or any other number of things that are needed on the day-to-day job. After talking to long time Medical Assistants who graduated from other colleges, I have learned that the teaching methods and equipment used at MTI is out of date.\r \r Secondly, they're "externship" program is a joke. After you get your "training", you work at a doctor's office for a few weeks with real patients...except where I was placed (and I've been told this is the norm) that you end up working on everything else except patients. I was stuck doing file work for about two weeks, and was told point blank, "you do this more than anything until you get some experience"....isn't an externship where you get hands on training working on patients? If what they are saying is true, then why in the more

MTI hates older women 3/14/2011

I won't even dignify this ""school"" with a rating. I submitted my application in January 2011. THREE DAYS BEFORE SCHOOL STARTS AND 3 1/2 months after initiallally applying,AND countless delays, the ""board"" determined my money was not good enough for them to be accepted. Because of their time-consuming charades, another semester has passed. I must take my educational grants and my hard earned money elsewhere. I am disgusted by their treatment! more

Great Job MTI 3/7/2011

My daughter graduates from CSUC and can't find a job after a year of looking. She then goes to MTI College and after a year gets her paralegal certificate and has a job a week after graduating. And she makes more $ than any of her friends. I guess a four year college degree is not worth as much anymore :-( more

Great Cosmetology School 12/1/2010

I just finished the Final Phase Program at Paul Mitchell the School - MTI College and that was the best thing that I could have done to get ready for my state board. All the learning leaders were amazing, and I don't think I would have passed without it. If you're going to school for cosmetology, you definitely want to go here. more

MTI College is worth it! 8/12/2010

Loyalsoul, I can appreciate your right to share your opinion, but question how you think the teachers and staff are so great but give the school a low rating. I felt I needed to respond. I worked as a student intern in the graduate placement department at MTI. As you must know the college has a long history and a solid reputation with employers in our community. While it is true that the graduate percentages are calculated on those students who are activated with the department, in order to count in those figures, they need to be working in their field. And not working at McDonalds like you posted! And why would you expect them to be accountable for people who did not care to register for placement services? MTI is a good college, but like anything, you have to do your part to make it a success. more

TRUTH ABOUT MTI 8/4/2010

I decided to make an account just to comment on MTI. I sure wished some one told me the truth about schools before I sign up. So I am willing to say it out. I have no reason to lie. People will have to pay a lot of money to go to this school so they should know what they are in for. THE GOOD: MTI is not a bad school. I had a great experience at MTI. The teachers really help you when you need it and are willing to work with you and your situation. There were definitely a lot of awesome and truly caring teachers at that school. I learned a lot there. The students were also really cool I made some friends that I think I will be friends with for a long time. The small class sizes are very helpful also. They have study hall available for help. There is usually always an available computer lab for you to work on homework, projects, or to surf the net. THE BAD: MTI costs a lot of money (just as any other vocational school). If you are not one of the students who's tuition is getting paid for through some program or unemployment, paying back student loans really blow. There is no guarantee you will get a job and depending on what program you go to MTI for career services arent that big of a help and can be useless. PLEASE FULLY READ THIS NEXT PART> I personally chose to go to MTI because it said there was a 96% graduation rate. I heard advertisements from MTI saying even with the tough economy their students were still getting hired. THIS WAS WHAT LEAD ME TO MY DECISION IN GOING TO MTI. What they failed to mention was there employment rate of 96% are only of the ones who graduate and signed up with career services. That means if 100 people graduate and only 10 people signed up with career services and 8 people got a job they would say they have an 80% grad. rate. Not only that even if a graduate finds a job they don't necessarily work in the field they went to school for. That means if you graduate then get a job at McDonalds you will be included into that employent percentage. I sure wished I knew this before I enrolled into this school and piled thousands of dollars in loan over my head. Overall I had a good experience at MTI but if I could go back and change my decision I would not have gone to this school. But it is your decision to determine if this is your right path or not. My intent is not to convince some one to go or not go to this school. I just think students showed know what they are in for before they make the decision. more

MTI COLLEGE is great! 4/22/2010

I have read these reviews about MTI College and I instantly felt I needed to create an account to defend this schools name. Pros: Small Class Sizes Cons: All year round classes, but this could also be a Pro more

Check out MTI for yourself and then decide... 11/9/2008

As a graduate and past employee of MTI College I would like to comment on the unfair statements made about MTI by what I assume to be an ex-employee. First do your own research, but let's consider some facts: Yes, MTI has been a part of Sacramento since its beginning in the 60's; its gradutes, well over 10,000, have done very well. I know that they see at least 90% of them get good jobs each year. They don't offer pie-in-the-sky programs or give false hopes to their students. Yes, you can go to ARC on the cheap, but where is that going to get you? From my experience it's good for getting the classes needed for transferring to a four-year college, but not much beyond that. In the time you waste fighting for classes at a community college and figuring out what you need, MTI would have you finished and working in a good job with opportunities for advancement. Okay... I'm a fan of MTI. Like I said, check it out for yourself and generate your own opinion. Hey, I don't even work there anymore, but I still care, it was a great place to work. Pros: Good results for getting started in a career Cons: only for the serious, flakes and losers should not attend more

Don't waste your time or money 11/4/2008

The place is a joke or a ripoff, depending on your perspective. They treat their staff and students like dirt. It's an old family-run business. Nothing more. They saddle you with gigantic student loans to pay for their overpriced BS courses and laugh all the way to the bank. The one positive reviewer who said the MTI was so great is an idiot. First of all, they state that MTI has been around forever like that is supposed to make me love them? Big whoop. MacDonalds has been around forever too. Secondly they state the other reviewers ""seems to be conflicting"" - what the f*** does that even mean? So your one good reviewer is an illogical moron with a poor command of English. That should tell you everything you need to know. ARC is 2 blocks away - why would you go to MTI? Cons: way overpriced more

Great school with graduates working in awesome careers! 7/28/2008

I have hired MTI's Paul Mitchell graduates (2) and have been very pleased with their skills and knowledge. The writer who hired three and said they were all bad seems to be conflicting in that they keep hiring from MTI. If they were so bad why would they be doing this??? It seems like there's some Paul Mitchell envy in the works! Ha :-) Pros: been in Sacramento forever Cons: ? not sure more

one line education! 7/27/2008

We just hired our third graduate from this school and they have all been disappointing! everyone of them came with an attitude jst because they graduated from a PM school. all they knew is PM this and PM that, no real hair cutting or color education. They might as well have gone to jerry lee for that kind of education and saved themselves the money. ADVISE TO ASPIRING STYLISTS: IF YOU ARE GOING TO PAY THAT KIND IF MONEY GO TO A SCHOOL THATS OWNED BY STYLISTS. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL FOR THE PRICE more
