While I was trying to fix some issues on my car, I went to all those shops on Elmira Road and they will quote me $600 -$1000 to fix a simple problem. Some also charge for the fact that they had to look at your car or the say "the cost for bringing it in th shop" who told me that, a mechanic at monro's...However Patterson IMO is the only shop you should go to. The guys here are honest, respectful and very helpful. They try their best to give you a good deal within your budget. I even got a call from a mechanic at 9pm telling me that i don't need this part or that part. They don't "jack" up the prices like other shops. I like this shop and will take my car here all the time more

Knowledgeable and friendly repair station in center of Ithaca 8/19/2005

This auto repair shop is conveniently located in the center of town across from the Seneca Street parking garage (remember, you get 2 free hours of parking here) on Aurora. But, best of all, the folks at Patterson's seem good, honest, and have the ability and know-how to work efficiently on all types of cars, even my '70 VW Bug. They don't charge an arm and a leg for little things, either. I can't give them a 5-star rating because I haven't had any big problems with my ca (yet!), so I have no way to evaluate them on really serious probs. more
