Filet Mignon 1/5/2003

Best steak I ever eat. Get the largest filet mignon with a nice bottle of dark wine and enjoy. Make reservations and avoid the bar side. Bring cash and an empty stomach to guarantee satisfying culinary devourment. Just ask for a fork, no knife necessary unless u need to pat some butter on your baked potato. Pros: STEAK, Setting Cons: Cash only, Reservations, NO SUNDAYS more

Dining Perfection 1/3/2003

Every time I visit Louisville, I must take my parents to eat at Pat's Steakhouse. It is absolutely by far the best steak I have ever eaten in the U.S. The Ladies Petite filet is the perfect size and it positively melts in your mouth. They also prepare a very smooth whiskey sour and have a nice wine selection. Everything on the menu is delicious!! The staff is ALWAYS very friendly and take care of every need to ensure a most enjoyable dinner. A definitive 10!!! Pros: Great Atmosphere, Superior Staff, Delicious Steaks more

fabulous 1/3/2003

This is by far the best steak house in Louisville. The atmosphere is excellent, the waitors are incredible the food is excellent and the prices are more than fair. Pros: price, service, food Cons: parking, no credit cards more

Pat's deserves congrats! 12/15/2002

Pat's Steakhouse is my favorite steak place in Louisville. It never fails to make me happy. The steaks have great flavor and the sides do as well. You can never leave feeling unsatisfied. more

Louisville: circa 1960 10/25/2002

We really loved Pat's Steakhouse - the food was great - we both had the NY strips which were cooked to perfection - Pat's is not cheap but it is very comfortable with no ""attitude"" - but don't go there expecting any fancy decor, this is old Louisville - the service was attentive - overall - it was just plain fun! Pros: Food, Service Cons: Expensive, Run down decor more

Non-smokers stay away 10/7/2002

This ""Louisville Tradition"" seems stuck firmly in the 60's. The decor, the menu and even the food are there. The food is quite good, the steaks wonderful. The wine list (even Premium) are wines that can be found at any grocery store. Biggest Problem--There is NO non-smoking section and smoke is present throughout the restaurant. This ruined the entire visit for my wife and I. Smokers delight, Non-Smokers, Stay Away!!! Pros: Great tasting steaks Cons: Smoke, Smoke, Smoke more

Solid, But Not The Best 8/24/2002

Pat's steakhouse has a wonderful Irish ambiance. The dining room was elegant, but rustic. The waiters were attentive and knowledgeable. The Wine selection was outstanding, though slightly overpriced. The crux of the matter is the chow. The 28oz porterhouse was the best offered, but was not comparable to other steakhouses in Louisville area. The greenbeans were drenched in bacon fat, not my cup of tea. The filet was undercooked, so back to the kitchen, thus eliminating the filet from a home-run. Good steaks, but not in compitition with Ruth's Chris or Del Fresco's. Pros: ambiance, wine Cons: value more

Great Food 8/7/2002

I love the Steak and Potatoes. The atmosphere was great. Sometimes you get a less than desirable waitress, but you find that anywhere you visit frequently. Pros: Great Food Cons: Sometimes Bad Service more

Disappointed 7/23/2002

We had heard so much about this place that we made a reservation and had some friends meet us there for dinner. The service was very poor, the waiter was very uninterested in being of any service or even being friendly. I noticed a lot of dust on the shelves and decor around us. We were shocked to find out that they only accept cash. The prices are too high not to accept some sort of credit or debit card. When expressing our concern, not even an apology was offered! Pros: easy to get to Cons: cash only more
