I owe my discovery of this place to citysearch since it was on a Saturday AM when I felt particularly tired of the regular breakfast joints that I came here in search of something new. However, that Sat I never found the restaurant because the address listed here is wrong ! 6720 is the right address. I corrected that on Sunday AM, after verifying with Street View in Google Maps.\r
Once found, I did enjoy the food and the retro architecture of the bldg. First time out I had the blackberry pancakes with eggs and ham. Next time out was just a standard eggs and sausage plate. Honestly the food was not extraordinary in any way, but I've returned twice and would go back again. (Don't let this ridiculous ""star rating"" system fool you - 3 stars is a positive review).\r
I've heard some complaints about the service. First time I waited about 25 minutes for the pancake plate. That did feel long. Second time, my wife and I waited only about 5-10 minutes for our food and the place appeared to be just as busy. As previously mentioned, you order food at the counter and it is brought to your table. I only find that awkward when it comes to tipping. Do you tip at the counter or the table? Otherwise, I actually like it more than waiting for a waiter to appear and take an order. But apparently it makes some people grumpy because I observed one gentleman making a fuss over it: ""This doesn't make any sense! Does anyone work here?"" he grumbled and grunted. Especially for breakfast service, I really don't mind this format. I might consider going back during other times of day (ie for dinner), but I understand the hours are quite limited ( I think it closes at 4pm on Sundays).\r
Recommended if you can handle the lack of waiters to take your order. \r
It's a diner, so the food is not going to change your life, but it's not greasy or stale or bland, which makes it miles better than Denny's, IHOP or any of those other breakfast factories.
Pros: Blackberry pancakes, situated in a refurb'd old diner, across from a similarly old motel
Cons: i have yet to really have a bad experience, so cons=0.
