the crazy Patio loco 4/16/2006

Patio Loco doesn't seem much from the outside but it's actually a decent place to go to with friends. It's a Mexican restaurant and you can sit outside too. Every other friday they have salsa night and that is a lot of fun if you go with friends. Also many groups have functions there so it may not always be open to everyone. more

salsa nights! 4/16/2006

If you want to go salsa dancing (and are with a large group of people) then you should give Patio Loco a try. I would recommend going with a lot of people, because sometimes there are some sketchy people that also want to go salsa dancing, and will try to hit on you. The food here is a little more authentic than most Mexican restaurants, so you might not like it if you're not used to it. It's definitely a place you should try if you're looking for a fun, laid back night of dancing and food. more

Patio Loco is crazy good 3/30/2006

I haven't been to Patio Loco in a while. I am hoping to get to go again this weekend, so keep your fingers crossed that I get to go. I really do love the place. The decor is very wacky. The patio in the McDonald's parking lot is tres klassy. I don't think they have air conditioning. That said, the food is GOOD! I love almost all Mexican food, but this stuff is definitely the best I've had. It's more flavorful and fresh than your standard microwaved "hot plate, hot plate" fare. It is definitely worth a visit... or five... more

Good atmosphere and outdoor seating 8/15/2005

If you have a large group and you want Mexican- this is a great choice! On the weekends- they often have live music, and we have always been able to get seating for 10 or more. The food is pretty good, and the margaritas are alright- although a little sweet. The location is great and they offer parking. more

Lively outdoor Mexican cafe 8/12/2005

Patio Loco has a prime location outdoors in downtown Chapel Hill. The atmosphere is very lively, and there is sometimes live music, especially late at night. There is also an active bar scene. The margaritas are good and come in several flavors. The food is a little greasy, but decent. Not a bad way to spend an evening. more
