I tried to buy a used kayak from PPP. Nice enough to give me a test ride, helpful and knowledgable guide person. But the owner is a stiff. Wouldn't budge on an over-priced used boat, wouldn't even change the seat back pad from another used boat to make the sale. Didn't care if I came back or not, didn't offer an alternative boat for the price range I could afford, didn't discuss financing, didn't offer to call if something came in, just tried to squeeze me for as much as possible. I suppose he figures that as the only dedicated paddle sports store this side of Albion customers have no choice but to take it or leave it. Leave it! I drove to Syracuse to buy a Craigslisted boat rather than give this guy a dime. If you've got $3000 or $4000 to spend maybe he'll treat you better, but don't go here looking for a deal. more

I cannot believe the first time experience I had with the owner of PPP. I was meeting some friends that rented canoes from PPP and was told to meet them by the launch, I had a small child with me and pulled onto the shoulder, not the grass, to unload. There was no one around at the time so I was not blocking anything, the owner came up from the creek and launched into a drawn out verbal tirade at me, which I remained calm though out and moved my car. He had no reason to yell at us and darn near ruined out day, it was completely uncalled for. I will never step foot into this store or use their launch ever again, which is too bad since we were looking to purchase some new gear and heard some good things about PPP. more
