The first time I visited the Pate was 19 years ago...it was fantastic. A childs dream! There were huge aircraft everywhere...bombers...fighters...even a "spruce goose".
Well times have changed. The majority of the aircraft sat outside and fell into such disrepair that they were sold back to the government and other places. So, basically the once fantastic collection of Historical Aircraft has dwindled into nothingness. What really saddens me is it is not really the Pates fault as the Museum has always been free/donations welcome.
With all that said, there is still a huge building full of Vintage Automobiles. This collection of antique cars range from the first one ever to be built, to the classics from the 30's 40's and 50's all the way up to a Delorean! There are so many examples that it is truly a Visual walkthrough of the American Automobile Revolution!
Well worth a Visit for a unique experience you are not likely to find elsewhere.
