Pat Barrett Transmissions

I have had a vehicle repaired here years ago, my ford F-150 blew the transmission a few months ago, and I lost my job, I used a spare care until I was able to afford the repair. I searched the internet for prices, and brought my car to Pat Barrett. The price estimate was a little higher than some no name shop, and my wife said take it here, you know they are a good shop, and why take a chance. The job price came in a little higher, but they worked with me knowing my situation. I appreciate the help, and to anyone looking, they are a extremely competent shop. I never doubted them ever. I was recommended to Pat Barrett Transmissions by my regular mechanic. I called and was seen the same day. My 2002 Explorer was not shifting correctly and Rich noticed it immediately. He was working on another Explorer and was able to give me a preview of what I was to expect. My car was done in 2 days and my cost was below what my anticipated estimate. Charged me $1000 to fix a leaky transmission. Only a 90-day guarantee. Still leaks. Blamed it on a different component. I replaced that component. Still leaks. What a scam. more

I'm trusting my daughter and her car to Frank and Rich so that should say a lot. Each time we've been there, Frank's been terrific about accurately diagnosing a problem and recommending the best way to address it. For one issue, he recommended going to the dealer to have it fixed for free under the warranty. He gets back to us promptly, never overcharges and I feel confident with his repairs. more

I just had my third car ('97 Honda Accord) in 12 years serviced by Rich Hanson at Pat Barrett's. I can't say enough great things about Frank and the rest of the gang at Pat Barrett. The clutch in my 2003 BMW 325ci went completely on a Thursday evening. I found Pat Barrett on the internet and called and spoke with Frank at 7:15 on Friday morning. I had the car towed to their shop at 10:00 and they had me back on the road with a new clutch by 3:00 that afternoon. The price was very fair too. I had also called the dealer, but my call was not returned for over 24 hours. Lucky break for me or I may not have taken my car to Pat Barrett. I know people won't believe this but my 1996 Chevy Astro has been religiously serviced at PBT for more than ten years. Frank and Rich and the gang have performed correct servicing of almost every vital part. I bought the van in 1996 and it had 23,000miles. PBT has serviced it first at 115,000. I now have 477,000 miles and PBT is one of the reasons it runs and looks as it does. THANK YOU FRANK, RICHIE, MIKE, AND TONY!! more

Pat Barrett Transmissions are old school in the best way. Knowledgeable,Courteous. They take pride in good work. And, they do a lot more than transmissions. Brought my 2004 Dodge PU in for a severe noise that 2 other mechanics said was my transmission. The guys at Pat Barrett Trans put up on the lift while a waited. The noise was coming from my front differential carrier was traveling back thru the driveshaft making it sound as if my transmission was bad. My 2004 Honda Odyssey broke down on my from Boston to Philly via Hiisdale NJ. My family and I were on our way to Philly when we started to have severe slipping. We just made to my parents in Hillsdale. My Father had it towed to Pat Barrett Transmission, he said he used them in the past and that they were fair with him. This was on a Friday and we were suppose to leave Sunday. Unfortunately this was not to be. The guys at Pat Barrett's did get us back on the road late Monday afternoon. I was waiting to be sticker shocked but I was very pleasantly surprised at hte bill. Two weeks later on our way back to Boston we have stopped at my parents and am writing this review so that other that are traveling and are having problems with their car can depend on being treated honestly and fairly by Pat barrett Transmissions. I brought my Honda Accord in for a severe noise. I was asked to go on a prelim road test and scan of the computer. The tech felt and heard the noise. He then put he car on the lift and drained the fluid while I watched. It wasn't a pretty sight. To make a story short they repaired my Accord quickly and at a very fair price.
