Dr. Pasui was on duty the night that I started having contractions at only 16 weeks. She refused to even try to stop my contractions despite me asking for them to at least try something, anything as I have a history of premature labor.
Ultimately, my water broke and I delivered a stillborn baby boy. Hours before his delivery, we had seen him moving and sucking his thumb. He was fine until the contractions caused my water to break.
Apparently, it is standard to not try to stop labor if the pregnancy is below a certain gestational point and while she may have followed that "guideline", it cost my son his life. Testing showed that both he and the placenta were both perfectly healthy when this happened. She didn't even try.
I'm sure she is a very nice person and maybe even a good doctor with a good bedside manner, but when there is an emergency, I want a doctor who is on my side and is going to at least make the effort to save my baby. She didn't do that and she never showed any sign that she would do it differently if she had it to do over again.
Choose your doctor wisely. Most any OB/GYN will do if everything goes right, but what if it doesn't?
