Perfect lunch buffet. The tandoori chicken was especially yummy. There are plenty of selections for meat eaters and vegetarians alike. I will be back for more.

The best Indian food I've ever had. Been for their lunch buffet and for dinner too. Very friendly staff and the service was outstanding. Chicken tikka masala is the best and they also have a onion stuffed naan. Will be back for more. more

I absolutely love this place! It is the best Indian in San Diego by far. Try the chicken tikka masala and garlic naan bread. You'll thank me later. more

Great 12/11/2011

So me and my husband decided to get some Indian food and this place was 2 minutes from from our home. service was great, i could not decide what to get so the waiter asked what i liked, i responded with a smile and said spicy chicken... he said he would tell the chef to make some chicken vindaloo that was nice and spicy. I really appreciated that. i would definitely go back here. o the bread cant forget the bread A+ too! more

Went here last night on the advice of friends and was glad I did. The food was excellent. The best Indian food I have ever had in San Diego. The service was great including a well paced meal and refilled water glasses. We had the garlic chicken tandoori and it was one of the best dishes I ever had. We also had the chicken tikka masala and the sauce was as good as everyone said. I made sure to tell them to scrap up every little bit of it for my doggie bag. The food was very plentiful and I plan on making lamb chops to go with the leftovers for tonight's dinner. more

I'm a big Indian food fan, and Passage to India is by far my favorite Indian restaurant in San Diego. Everything here is just a notch above everywhere else I've eaten. Their mango lassies are perfection, there's something so delectable about their samosas that I don't like them anywhere else anymore, and their main course sauces are to die for. It really seems like their secret might be the freshness of their ingredients and spices. This place is top-notch! I whole-heartedly love and recommend this place. more

I had my first Indian meal here at Passage to India and I must say, they set the bar pretty damn high! Their food is marvelous. I haven't been there in a while, but I used to go there all the time a few years ago. I consistently order the tandoori chicken every time I go there because it's just so good that I don't even care to try anything else! Their garlic naan is great, their chutneys even better, their tandoori chicken speaks for itself, and their vindaloo is excellent. I've also had a sip of their mango lassi and that was excellent as well. Not to mention, the prices are totally reasonable. This is a really great Indian place in my neighborhood! I just tried it for the first time and definitely recommend a visit. Great food, great prices, excellent service. Cozy atmosphere. The waiters were extremely nice and talked to us about our food and gave us a few extras (including a yummy mango lassi) so we would get the entire experience. I would definitely go back or order from there! more

Excellent food, service and variety. The menu has soo much to choose from and the service is amazing! I love the inside of the restaurant! I love Indian food and I was so happy with the taste and service when I went for dinner. The menu is huge, but the waiter happily helped me with any questions and explanations. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are large. This is a must go to place for good indian! more

Excellent and quite authentic Indian food. Having been exposed to fantastic Indian food in the Bay Area I'm thrilled to have found this place. The buffet is the best, very fresh and the taste authentic. The naan is very tasty, they have an excellent spinach as well as Tandoori Chicken. If you're looking for Indian food this place is a must try! more

Great food, great service, great price. Came here with my boyfriend we ordered the malai kofta and paneer karahi both were outstanding.The garlic naan was awesome... I would HIGHLY recommend the malai kofta, I really like this dish but I find most restaurants make it in a sweet sauce I don't particularly care for. This place makes the malai kofta in a creamy savory sauce that is flavorful but not overpowering. The two dishes were more than enough for my boyfriend and I to share, we both ordered wine too and our bill was around $45.... what a terrific deal for such a quality meal! more

Authentic Indian food 10/11/2011

I absolutely love Passage to India. I have been to this restaurant for lunch and dinner. I prefer the lunch buffet because I can get a little bit of everything I love depending on the day - butter chicken (similar to chicken tikka masala), chicken vindaloo, curry goat, lamb curry, tandoori chicken, naan, you name it. Lunch is about $12 per person not including beverage. Buffet starts at 11:00. Get there early for a good seat because it fills up fast. more

Best Indian Food in San Diego! This place is a hidden gem. Delicious food, great service. The food tastes fresh and the portions are large. The Tikka Masala is obviously delicious but we also had a vegetable medley, sag, and a lamb and rice dish that was awesome. The service is great and friendly. more

Such a good place to eat. Despite of I am not a huge fan of indian food, I really love this place. In fact, you can find whatever you want, fresh, regular or spicy food. Providing a great service in a charming place. more
