Big Disappointment! 10/27/2010

After recently moving to the area we continue to be disappointed by the local eatery. Pasillas - my fiance and I shared an app. and an entree with water to drink - the bill was $28 (what!!!). To start, the salsa was made with canned tomato sauce, fresh? flavorful? - no. The scallop app was ok at best, again canned fruit in the compote. The fish taco lunch special was topped with italian vinaigrette???? Beans and rice were beyond bland - tasteless. The floor was dirty and I am pretty sure we were the first customers for the day. However, the server was pleasant and attentive. We will not be eating here again.....sorry. more

I felt cheated 5/27/2009

I ordered the ahi tacos, they were good. My friends ordered the chimichangas and were asked if they wanted red or green sauce, they each chose different ones. The chimis were OK. Here's the bad part, when we got the bill, they got charged $1.75 each for the sauce. I think the waitress should have told us there was an extra charge for sauce on your chimi, not just offer it and charge you separate for it. She also offered to bring more chips and salsa, but again, failed to inform us there was a $3.50 charge. We paid with a credit card, again, she failed to tell us there was a 2.5% charge for using your credit card. All in all, we paid an extra $8.00 for our meal. This is not going to break us, but we felt cheated and will not go back. Pros: Ahi tacos good Cons: hidden costs more

Best Ahi tacos in the world! 1/29/2009

I am a Kamas local. We are so lucky to have a place like Pasillas so close. They have such fresh and creative food. I love the way the give the local kids a chance to learn about the restaurant business and help keep them out of trouble. You can always find a friendly face and a great meal. Shorty and Roger are usually there and take great care of us. We always leave full and happy. It is the perfect end to a beautiful day in the Uintas. Pros: Fresh and inventive food, great funky atmosphere. Cons: I can't take the chef home with me. He is engaged. more

One of my most favortite Restaurants 1/26/2009

I have been a long time customer of Pasillas. I love Shorty the owner, who is always there working and Roger who feeds me some of the most amazing dishes that he creates. The restaurant has such a warm feeling when you walk in, generally Shorty will be the one who waites on you, she has such a fun personality and as I have stated the food is delicious. My favorite is the Triple Fish Tacos which I tell everybody to order. My only wish, that Shorty would open another Pasillas in Salt Lake. Pros: cute, fun and delicous more

Worst Customer Service EVER! 10/5/2008

I went to Pasillas for the first and only time last weekend. My family and I were going on a nice fall drive around Kamas and thought this restaurant looked cute, so we stopped to eat. We seated ourselves, it wasn't busy. The waitress that served us was extremely slow. There were 4 of us in an uncrowded place and it took us close to an hour and a half for this experience. I glanced down into my glass of water that I had already drank most of and noticed a fly in it. I instantly got up and told the waitress that she should be checking her pitchers of water because there was a fly in my glass and I had been drinking out of it, she just glanced at me and said ""sorry"" I was so fed up with her at this point. I told her this was 3 strikes against this restaurant. She didn't say anything else, she didn't offer to take a percentage off the check or anything. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. I'd rather starve. Since I ate at Pasillas I've talked to others who have eaten there saying that they would never go back either and they also had horrible service. Pros: food wasn't horrible Cons: HORRIBLE SERVICE more

Best Chile Relleno ever!!! 3/4/2007

I have traveled all over the world, and I have to say that Pasillas is one of my most off beaten track restaurants. When I go for a hike in the Uintas I always stop there for a Chili Relleno with Grilled Shrimp and the most wonderful Mango Margarita. The service is very friendly and the atmosphere is great!! I met the artist who paints the murals and it turns out he is the Executive Chef as well, a very talented man. Pros: Beautiful inside, easy parking unlike Park City, excellent food Cons: need more wines choices more

Good food with friendly service at the gateway to the Uintah's 11/1/2006

We have been going to Pasillas for many years - ever since they opened and we have had great food. The menu is a little constant but all the items are good and all the prices are low. Highly recommended ! Especially at some place as out of the way as Kamas. Any trip to the Uintah's should include a stop here. Say Hi to Shorty, the owner. Pros: Great food in a great location Cons: Could use some rotation in the menu. more

Just awful 7/4/2005

Inedible food, awful zombie server. Owner/manager who when we were explaining to her the shortcomings of our meal said ""i have to go."" Steer clear of pasillas. Cons: food, service more
