Bring a jacket 4/4/2006

I have been going to Pasadena to ice skate for a long time now. It's cheap to get in and you can rent figure or hockey skates. I always just bring my own hockey skates because it lessens the ick factor. I'll usually drag along a few friends who have never skated. Sometimes there is a line to get in and I've gone when it was pretty empty as well, just depends on when you go I guess. There are people of all levels skating so you won't feel self conscious if you're just learning. I bring along light gloves when I go because my hands usually get a little cold. more

Ice Skating! 12/30/2005

I used to come here often for skating lessons and practice. Lessons are actually a pretty good deal. Usually on their website, there are discounts for lessons and skate rentals. And you get a bunch of free admissions and free skate rentals when you get your lesson card. If you choose not to take a lesson, you can use it for another admission. It can be a bit crowded on weekends so I liked going on weekdays when there was less people. They ice their rink down so it's not too choppy for long. more

Pretend you're Michelle Kwan 12/28/2005

This place is a really fun place to go with a large group of friends, especially during the winter. I went with my church youth group a while ago and we had a lot of fun ice skating. It was the first time for many of us, so we kept falling on our bottoms, but it was fun. I felt extremely sore afterwards though. It is cold inside, so you may want to bring a sweater and a change of clothes (your pants will be wet if you keep falling). more

Ice Skating 10/29/2005

I don't know any other places that offer ice skating in Los Angeles. I guess if there were other ice skating rinks close by, the price would be more competitive. However, as of right now, the Pasadena ice skating center should do. This place gets busy at times, but it is a very cool place to bring the family. The center is very thoughtful of school fundraisers because they sell discounted fundraising packages for school clubs. They also have discounted rates for morning hours which they call "cheapskate". Otherwise, it costs about 10 bucks for regular sessions. If ice skating is not your thing, try hockey or broomball. The ice skating center also has birthday parties for 1 hour. more

Pasadena Ice Skating 10/10/2005

Pasadena Ice Skating is a very great place to take the family or to have a unique date with someone. Cheap to get in, expensive food, and depending on when you go - CROWDED .. Something very magical about ice skating though - I love the cold and plan on taking my husband here around Christmas time for a special night out - its something thats unique other than just dinner and a movie. more

ice skating in pasadena 9/2/2005

I came here when my friends asked me one day if I would like to go ice skating. The lines before you can get in, are very long but well worth the wait. The price of the ticket as well as the ice skates are very reasonable except that the skates are very old and don't smell good. Who could expect better from rentals? The food there is very overpriced but i'm guessing that from the cheap price to get in, they have to do that. They take good care of the ice for the protection of the people who go there. more

Skating for everyone 8/20/2005

If you enjoy ice skating and live near Pasadena than Pasadena ice skating center is the place for you. I have been here a couple of times for a fundraiser and every time I had a great experience. If you have been skating for years or just started, you can still come here to have a good time. more

Skate away 8/19/2005

A great place to have fun. It can get crowded, however. But definitely the place to go for family and/or friends. They offer a discount for larger groups, too. Also, for a small fee, the skating ring gives skate rentals, which is convenient for those who don't have skates, which is most of the general public. more

Good place for a date 8/12/2005

The Pasadena Ice Skating Rink is a nice place to go. It isn't very expensive to get in and rent a pair of skates. You have the choice between skates that figure skaters use or hockey skates. I usually choose the later as they don't cause me feet to hurt as much. The skates are also in pretty good condition, considering they're rented a lot. The ice is very nice, as they have the zamboni come out every couple hours to make the ice nice and smooth again. They also have a hockey league for kids if you have kids that are interested in hockey. more

awesome place to hang out 8/6/2005

This Ice Skating arena is a great place to hang out with your family or friends. I usually come here with a group of friends even though we don't know how to ski that well. The atmosphere is very cheerful and energetic which makes the experience that much more fun. And it isn't that expensive either. more

Great ice skating place in pasadena 8/6/2005

I usually go to this place on Thursday since they have cheaper price for Thursday night, which only cost $5 including the rental of the shoes. Imagine $5 for several hours, is it a great deal. And also it is pretty good place for family activity. Kid like it very much. They have skating lessons. I try it for my kids, which works great. You can enjoy sakting while your kids are learning. And also the class price are not expensive, in the range which you can afford. Definately suggest if you have kids. more
