The Partyland in Canton, Mi. should be avoided at all costs, the owner is very rude, pushy, and will try to sell you everything in the store. do yourself a favor and dont even go in the door. more

I went in to buy party supplies for my son's birthday party. I made my purchase without incident. My husband and I happened to go to another party store and saw that the prices on the same items were cheaper. I purchased the cheaper items and THE SAME DAY tried to return the products I had just bought to PartyLand. The owner initially refused to return anything and was raising his voice in front of my two young children. I had my receipt and hadn't been gone for more than 2 hours. He just kept saying no he couldn't until my husband came in and he immediately returned my items. He was so extremely rude, had it not been for my husband coming in I don't know how he would have acted. Cons: Beware of owner more

I've been shopping at party land for the past nine years and went in yesterday to buy graduation products for my son and again was impressed with the customer service I received from the owner and his son! They helped me with all my needs! I'm shocked to read the other reviews because I've never had a problem with the owner. Great store with a lot of products to choose from. I took my 3 year old in to pick out a theme for her party. She chose a pattern that I knew I had some leftovers of in my party supply storage bin at home. So I asked the owner about the return policy and he said no problem as long as you have the reciept. So I kept everything in the original bag with the reciept and a week or two after the party I went to return my unused, unopened items. He said that he couldn't give me cash back because it was 30 days...mind you it was no more than 45 days! he wanted to give me store credit that would expire in a year. I said no...that was not fair. He still carries the pattern, it's not seasonal or clearance, it's not opened, it has his store price stickers on it...he would not budge. I said that was absurd and I was never coming back and i'd let all of my friends and family know. I live within a half a mile of there but i will NEVER shop there again - I don't care if I have to go 10 miles to the nearest party supply store. That guy is a nightmare. He yelled at me...then he told me to send an email to corporate. Oh, you bet I will...and to the B B B and to City Search, and to the Chamber of Commerce and to anyone else who might care. I NEVER have return problems. I am a very reasonable person. This was just INSANE to me. Cons: horrible customer service more

I went in to buy one balloon and a happy 50th birthday banner to decorate someone's desk after hours. The owner tried to push every 50th birthday item that they sold on me, I wasn't decorating a hall!!! just a desk, geez!!! I'll not go in there again although I do receive the coupons on occasion, not worth the hassle/harassment. Pros: good location, ample parking Cons: pushy owner, for what? a $2 balloon sale? more

He tried to pull a bait and switch. I went into the store to buy some balloons for a bridal shower I was throwing. I had received 3 different coupons for balloons in the mail earlier that week, so I was so excited I could save some money. One coupon 25% off total order, second coupon $1.99 per mylar balloons, $7.99 for dozen latex balloons(standard colors). I needed 3 mylar balloons and one dozen ballons. I stopped by the local dollar store to buy some balloon weights to save some money and then went to Party Land. Here is my horrible experience.First, the MANAGER told my that my balloon weights I had brought in would pop my balloons and that I should purchase his balloon weights for $1.99. THEY WERE SELLING THE EXACT SAME BALLOON WEIGHTS THAT I HAD BROUGHT IN!! I asked if he had some sort of balloon bag to help transport the balloons. He said that he did for $1.99. I said I would take a look and the bag WAS A GARBAGE BAG!!! HE TRIED TO SELL ME A CLEAR GARBAGE BAG FOR $1.99.HAHAHA I laughed and said ""THat's a garbage bag, no thank you"" He said ""this is bigger than a garbage bag"" (with a giggle- sign number 2Then, I was ready to pay for my balloons and he told me he could not except any of my coupons. I told him to never mind then and I was going to take my business else where. HE THEN STARTED YELLING AT ME!! Saying I HAD TO BUY THE BALLOONS!! I told him I do not have to buy his balloons and he said he was going to call the police. I told him to call the police because what he was doing was illegal. . He then said ""Okay, I give you $1.00 off."" I told him fine, but that he lost a custome because I will never be back here again. HE SAID THAT was fine because he doesnt care if he lost one customer. So I paid $16.00 for the balloon even though the bill came to $15.86. I told him to keep the change because he is going to need it. HE yelled ""No YOU KEEP CHANGE, I THROW CHANGE IN GARBAGE CAN!"" He then threw my change in the garbage can and I walked out the door. Pros: Nice staff except manager/owner Cons: 1 of my balloons deflated after an hour, MANAGER VERY RUDE!!! more
