Yummy food. 2/12/2010

I just had dinner here and it was very good. I ordered the fresh fish with Versailles sauce which was a creamy sauce with shrimp. I had the white chocolate bread pudding--dreamy! Not the stuff that diets are made of but worth it! more

Best Cajun Food in Town 5/27/2009

What a great selection of delicious Cajun food! When visiting Baton Rouge recently, everyone told me that this place served the best Cajun food and I wasn't disappointed. I also visited Mike Anderson's, Drusilla Seafood, and another restaurant whose name I can't remember. But, after I discovered Parrain's, I ate here four days straight because the food was so good and there was so much that I wanted to try. The service was great, the beer selection good and cold, the serving sizes were huge and the setting looked like an old Cajun house. I didn't have a better meal even in New Orleans. A great family place that is not to be missed. more

Parrain's 11/8/2008

I went here when I was in Baton Rouse for an interview. The seafood is amazing. It was my real introduction to cajun food. I had a crawfish po'boy and some gumbo. more

Great Seafood and Cajun Dishes 6/29/2008

I had the gumbo, slaw, drumfish w/dirty rice. Everything was excellent. I have never had drumfish but it was a very mild fish and I will have it again for sure. The slaw and gumbo were very good also. I was there on a Sunday evening. It was pretty crowded but the service was very good. They had a very good beer selection also (both draft and bottles). They had outside seating and tables at the bar wih no waiting. Pros: Everthing was great Cons: None that I can think of more

Horrible service 6/23/2008

Worst customer service ever. They don't take reservations and won't accommodate a group. Very rude and snobby, in a city that abhors snobby. The food is barely average, overpriced. Don't bother. Try one of the other great seafood places in town. Cons: small parking lot, rude service, overpriced, no reservations available more

Always a Delight 4/18/2008

The food here is absolutely superb every time, and the atmosphere just perfect. Laid-back but still a rustic-elegance that suits a nice evening out. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough to locals and visitors to our capital city for some fine Cajun cuisine and delicious seafood done just right. more

Great Cajun and Creole for a reasonable price 5/31/2007

If you're craving somethin Cajun, this place is perfect. It's a casual place that's ideal for a ""stop-in"" on a whim. Try their seafood platters, they're all cooked to perfection and you get alot of it! Pros: Awesome seafood Cons: Not for those looking to go upscale more

Good 'Ole Cajun 5/9/2006

Just a fun place to get really good (mostly fried) seafood and Cajun. Their specialty fish dishes are really a treat! Service is consistently friendly and efficient. A family favorite. more
